Re: City Fans
No because they came thinking it was going to be an easy afternoon stroll but instead were pushed right to the end by an team that probably earns collectively less than just one of their players.aylesburyos wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 11:39 pmBecause they won?Winchestorfan wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 11:32 pmVery respectful and applauded our team at the end. There were no fans not celebrating when we took the lead . As per your past posts you were not even there. Are you Eddie Spiv Hearn in disguise?Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 11:55 pm Lots of new faces in the North without any colours and being quiet…

Re: City Fans
You recognised every fan in the North Stand? And checked they all had scarfes on? Seems unlikely.Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 12:26 amThere were none. Don't talk rubbishHoover Attack wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 11:55 pm Lots of new faces in the North without any colours and being quiet…

Spoke to a city fan in the coffee shop after the game , he was very gracious about us and wished us well for the rest of the season
, i thought Pep was class coming over to each stand and applauding the homee fans
thoroughly enjoyed the day regardless of losing

Re: City Fans
Well said Ron although I thought their support was shocking for a Club of their status. If that had been United it would have been rumbustious and noisy. Seen more animation in a still life painting than in some of their fans although I thought Pep was class at the end.BIGRON wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 11:09 am Spoke to a city fan in the coffee shop after the game , he was very gracious about us and wished us well for the rest of the season, i thought Pep was class coming over to each stand and applauding the homee fans

Re: City Fans
I met 2 City fans, Michael & Greg, in the Moxy in Stratford Fri night & Sat morning. We had a good chat.
Greg has written a book about City called 'To the blue moon & back.' They were both fans of long standing & particularly wanted to see this game as they'd never been to our ground.
Michael messaged me after the game & was clearly worried for a time.
Most City fans I've met are proper football fans but I'm sure they have their plastic element.

Re: City Fans
It's an odd club. Vast majority of their match going support will have an outlook on football not dissimilar to ours - to expect the worse, that they are overshadowed by bigger teams, that their lot is mainly to fail and occasionally have moments of success. And they've then suddenly become the most successful (and arguably disliked) team in the country, fronting a horrid sports washing regime. Get the sense it's created a bit of an identity crisis for them, the city fans I've met have tended to be a self loathing lot who are still expecting to wake up from the last 15 years and find themselves getting battered by Middleborough. Weren't particularly loud on Saturday but would we be if losing to a team 2 tiers below us and playing like sh*t?
Was glad that despite some of the nonsense being peddled about loads of City fans being in the home end, this didn't happen on a scale that was in any way noticeable.

Re: City Fans
I'll agree with that, had to remove one from my seat. Not sure it was entirely his fault as the guy 2 seats over to my left has a rather generous arse so does sometimes park it across 2 seats.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 11:55 pm Lots of new faces in the North without any colours and being quiet…
Shocked that more staff weren't put on or at least pints not poured in advance at half time though. Whole of half time taken up because the boy wanted pringles and a sprite the little poo poo
