Sonny Perkins

Post by moonwalk19 »

According to RW post match interview we have apparently signed Sonny Perkins on a permanent deal. He said he thought that the deal was going through on Thursday but was delayed. He did not say for what reason.

Meh not sure. Definitely improved loads though and still very young so who knows. Not my money either so more depth is good

Massively improved in his last few games - he had to - and showing some potential so happy for him to stay here. But he’s not getting in the first team any time soon.

More likely it's him/his agent haggling over the size of the payout for him walking away from his contract there.

Unless he changes significantly - and recent form is not enough - then I fear an error. Not enough pace or strength to make up for the ability he has in his feet.

This has to be a vanity project on the part of RW.

I'd have said the same about Donley 2 months ago, now look at him (I'm not saying Sonny is in the same class, obvs).

Lincoln fan on the League one lowdown podcast said Perkins was the standout when they beat us at their place.
Funny what others eyes see.

Also said the perm deal for Perkins has fallen through. Would not be very disappointed if this is the truth.

Donley's issue was his stamina/maturity. If we could see a video of him running in those first 6 games compared to Saturday then it would be chalk and cheese. I like Sonny's ability but I cannot see him having enough effect to break into the team. Given he's meant to be on £5k a week at Leeds - and will take a big drop in coming to us - he will still be drawing a good whack. Nobody will be happier than me if he comes good but the higher we rise the bigger a luxury I think he could be.

Maybe this is why we are looking at Maidenhead winger Reece Smith?

That may not be the most ads I've ever seen on a website, but it's close.

Newsnow stating that Orient have agreed to sign him on a permanent basis for a small fee. However Leeds have stated that should Orient sell him on they will get a sizeable chunk of the fee. Sounds a good deal by all
