Leyton Orient Football Club confirms interest in Ejaria
During an appearance on the Orient Outlook Podcast, Director of Football Martin Ling confirmed Leyton Orient's interest in the attacking midfielder, stating that he, as well as Blackburn Rovers winger Dilan Markanday, were "on the list of players we’re looking at".

Just watched some video of Ovie Ejaria when in form at Reading, I know they are always the best bits, but he was quite a player.

The Orient knee surgeons must be getting bored...
Ejaria was most recently on trial at Egyptian club Zamalek SC, who are currently fourth in the Egyptian top league and also managed by a certain José Gomes. However, this once again amounted to nothing and no contract was offered. It seems the concern was centred around his recovery from the knee injury that kept him out of action for so long with us as well.
In an interview with Al-Hayat, the former head of football operations at the last club Ovie played for, Mark Bowen said: “Do I think Zamalek made the right decision regarding Ovie Ejaria? Absolutely.

“The player hasn’t competed in professional matches for about two years, and the club was right to evaluate him carefully, especially since he had a significant knee injury.

“Even if the club had decided to sign him, I would have advised them to offer a contract tied to his performance, linking his compensation to the number of games and minutes he plays. It’s a risky situation, signing a player who hasn’t played competitively in two years.”

Do we need a player who has not played football for 2 years the answer is NO.. Do we need an attacking mid fielder -NO. Do we need someone who has had knee injuries in the past-NO. Will he be available to play immediately-NO.why are we bothering with such a player.

Depends on the deal the club offer. If he’s on a pay as you play then it might work for both parties. I am showing my age but wasn’t Adam Chambers a bit of a crock before he joined us. Wasn’t a bad signing.

Mark Bowen is an idiot. Look him up. Sacked for betting. A nobody. If RW thinks he is good enough get him in on a pay as you play.

Exactly. I want us to give this player an extremely wide swerve .

Woahhh, steady on

Just because you’re an injury prone unproven inexperienced player doesn’t mean you’re not potentially good

Just saying he’s got a type

Pay per play would seem the only way we could do this, with an option for a contract in our favour, so we don’t get him fit then lose him to someone else.

And he did score against Motherwell in the cup whilst on loan at Sevco. Proven goalscorer.

You can't have it all your way. If we're only paying him when he plays (which seems reasonable), that's the trade off already done. You can't then demand a contract option.

Wellens is big on character and attitude. The concern is over that from what others have said.

Pay per play is one of the biggest myths in football, it doesn't happen, you've got injuries, not selected and all sorts, it's not just a real thing

This is all getting very confusing and I feel we are breaking new ground with an injury prone, attitude filled, inexperienced, and out of the game player. This should be body swerved.

There's better out there. We just need the scouts and Lingo to promote our existing signing policy and get out there and scour the other 91 clubs injury lists but focus on good attitudes and having kicked a ball within living memory.
