The same era as ‘boink’ from goal kicks. Haven’t seen that again either.

Re: Top 5 Os memories
Good topic!
Beating Chelsea 3-2 in the cup early 70s.
Play off final win v Wrexham
Knocking Norwich out the cup at Carrow Road late 70s ... but could easily have picked the repeat in the 2000s
Peter Kitchen's goal at Stamford Bridge when we knocked Chelsea out the cup
Pitch invasion when we won the National League

Re: Top 5 Os memories
Hate to be a spoilsport but as great as the other night was, I don’t think it will age well as a memory.
If the City game is, as is most likely, underwhelming then we will wonder what all the fuss was about. Or if we somehow give City a fright or even beat them, it will be that game that we will remember.

Re: Top 5 Os memories
Rotherham (a) 1999
Last minute equaliser at Northwich 2001
Hull (h) 2001
Oxford (a) 2006
Dover (a) 2018(?) Mooney's last minute 25 yard chip.
I have a terrible memory so this is very much subject to change. Peterborough (h) semi should obviously be up there but I couldn't enjoy it quite as much as everyone else as I knew I had a big clash on the day of the final and that was causing conflicting emotions.

Re: Top 5 Os memories
Barrie Fairbrother's rocket cross shot goal across the goalie in the Wrexham playoff final.
Tommy Johnston's goal after beating three Everton defenders on an ice bound pitch.
Lockwood's hat trick against Gillingham.
O's lifting the league 2 trophy.
The takeover completion from the mad Italian.

Re: Top 5 Os memories
Not sure how to define 'top' in my mind, so I'll go Desert Island Discs-style and try to hit some important milestones:
Brighton 4 - Orient 4, 1997 - my first ever away game
Walking up Wembley Way, a little drunk, before the Playoff Final, 1999
Oxford 2 - Orient 3, 2006 - obviously
Orient 1 - Arsenal 1, 2011 - even the goal celebration alone
Gillingham 2 - Orient 0, 2023 - real jubilation

'Member when Jabo skipped past all those challenges on that awful, muddy Stamford Road pitch and clipped the outside of the post? What might have been, eh. Ray Wilkins ran over and banjoed him for that, as I recall.

Oxford - nuff said
Arsenal and Tehoue
Winning away at Northampton, before when winning away never existed.
Fulham FA cup - I never went home that day!
Solihull Moors - we were creeping towards the finishing line and the result, along with the atmosphere in that beer tent. A proper memory.

Yes, Brighton game was brilliant. Butch taking out the pitch invader. Brighton fans were not happy. A pretty edgy walk back to the car with my coat well and truly zipped up….Wally Banter wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 9:52 am Not sure how to define 'top' in my mind, so I'll go Desert Island Discs-style and try to hit some important milestones:

Sorry about that, it was Lee Harvey, the old memory ain't what it used to be.
