Disliking someone's character doesn't necessarily equate to intolerance. You shouldn't let anyone get under your skin, and resort to insults, over an individual like Mick Lynch simply because they have an opposing view to you. It's intolerant.Gary the Plumber wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 8:27 pmWhat exactly don’t you like about Micky Lynch? Pretty funny seeing how much good attention he’s got this week. There are swathes of thr RMT who don’t have time for him and I spent 5 minutes of my last branch meeting whinging about how he sends out too many mass texts

Yeah he needs to get a grip with mass texts if he doesn't want to ruin the brand.
How many are in a swathe? 1 malcontent who appears not to know the value of solidarity over cheap personality differences?

Mick Lynch who strives (pretty much working all day, every day at the moment.Hope he gets overtime...) making life better for thousands of RMT members?Chief crazy horse wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 7:44 pmIrrelevant hyperthetical tosh as a come back.Dunners wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 4:49 pm I'm worried now that, when I'm eventually being interviewed by Piers Morgan about the great boardin' thread of 2022 on the war in Ukraine, he'll spend it questioning why I have an old photo of Paul Terry as my avatar. And instead would live next to Piers Morgan? Phone hacking piers? Murdoch's puppet? Piers is out for himself and actively promotes talking points to make more and more vulnerable people's live's even worse. He's a proven liar, only out for his own viewing figures and whatever grossly inflated salary Murdoch throws at him.
Aren't traditional tories meant to be about hard work and integrity? I mean I beg to differ, I think it's either class snobbery, or a sense of self inflated superiority - while working class tories live in an insecure bubble of serfdom to those they think to be better than them (if you cant beat them, join them) - but aren't you at least meant to pretend its about the first bit.

Re: Mick Lynch - the hits
The only people who care about the working class in this country are the unions . I'm a member of a union and proud of it . Sadly , the labour party have lost their way resulting them in getting a bloody good hiding at the last election . Many people , including myself think the Labour Party cares more about the sandal wearing , hybrid bike riding , never farking ending house improvement building middle class w*nker types from places like islington and Hackney .

Re: Mick Lynch - the hits
Amazing in 2022 that people are still talking about class, it tends to be men of a certain age.
I don't know any young people who give two hoots about what class they're in, they just want to get on. Unions are a good thing but any political party that aligns itself entirely with a class that no one aspires to be in, are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.

He's announced that he's retiring.
I wonder what his next move will be, and if he'll get into party politics? He's a rarity on the left - Someone who isn't a complete f*ckwit and can articulate sensible arguments when being pressured by gobsh*te journalists. Imagine him on a debate panel with all of the other party leaders.

He performs well because he has a base of good socialist values and principles to fall back on which means he can answer honestly.Dunners wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 10:03 am He's announced that he's retiring.

Unlike his Labour Party crew who have no such values and principles and simply answer based on the line being fed to them that day.
