Bechetti and relegations and then two years of being in the National league where we could have spent a lot longer (see Wrexham) and every result was so important I suddenly have a warm fuzzy feeling about this season. Somewhat helped by only one club being relegated. It is very unlikely we will go down. It is very unlikely we will go up. We have 9 months of watching our club win a few, lose a few but with no real pressure for the first time in a very long time. We can moan and groan to our hearts content. Yes, this season will be a nice one. We have our very mediocre football league club back.

Blimey I forgot only one goes down.Still I thought we'd be ok though. So long as we get a steady income of points.

Not mediocre, simply the best football team on the planet.

I am pretty sure that Ole and his lot is coming to E10 on January the 4th 2020.

Too good to end bottom, good enough for the playoffs if we get out sh*t together. But we have dropped points at home we should not have and the defence ain’t what it used to be.

So a mediocre mid table season will do me fine. But I still get nervous looking at how far we are from the bottom.

I dare say after we get stuffed by Southend my attitude will change.

To use it for a training venue before playing at West Ham then next day in one of the FA Cup 3rd round TV games?

Top of the National League I think means mid table L2
But sadly without change of management we could hover in the 20 21st 22nd position.
The sooner the better.

Yes, that’s a fair assessment of our position.

But no warm, fuzzy feeling here. I had expected another promotion push until tragedy struck during the summer.

There is no good reason why Orient can’t go up. 2 points off a play off place and 4 off automatic with 40 games to go. It’s not as if there are 4 super teams in this league. Long way to go.

Gives me plenty of time to find a way of getting from the South Stand into the away end, thanks for the heads up

"Not mediocre, simply the best football team on the planet."

I slightly disagree, simply the best football club on the planet with an, at present, mediocre team.

It still maybe 2 down.

The clowns at the efl have probably messed up legally.

How can they treat a club in administration more preferably to a club that has done a cva and has therefore avoided administration.

There is also the ridiculous short period of time allowed for a buyer to go through due diligence.

All a bit of a cock up really. Badly handled. But I wonder if they have done anything illegal?

What ever, I would hope that common sense would prevail and should Bury come up with a viable solution then a rethink is on the cards hopefully. But it needs to be soon.

Good season for the coaching team to learn. Not sure going up at this time would be a good thing actually.

Can't pick and choose when to get promoted. Like 1974, not as if Os have got that close since. Or 2014. Might have bought an extra season and meant Os didn't go into National League. I think promotion is always a good thing, even if you come straight back down.

If we had gone up in 2014 and Beelzebub had taken over our spending might have been even higher and the debt may have ended up being so great that the takeover might not have been feasable.

Definitely. I really think there would no longer be an orient, at least not in its current guise, if we had gone up to the championship.

They can't let bury back in lge 2 in a way you'd be rewarding a club for going under and not trying to save itself. I think in cases like this where the club is liable to reform a standard drop of three divisions would suffice so Bury would end up in the national League north I guess.

OP reflects a lot how I think and and expect this season to pan out. I also agree that after 5-6 straight years of pressure cooker seasons, a year of mid table mediocrity and a chance to stabilise back in the Football League will do me just fine. Particularly after what happened in the summer.

Be nice if we could spring a few surprises. From what I’ve seen we have the quality to do so but will probably be let down by a lack of consistency
