It’s about allowing the body time to recover. They haven’t had that. Which is when you’re at risk of picking up injuries. As evidenced by the injuries we’re now picking up. This isn’t overly complicated.
Just as well they’re all well rested then. Agyei rolling his ankle has nothing to do with how many games they’re playing.
Because of the recent scheduling, no one is well rested.

Agyei didn't roll his ankle, it was from contact. And because his body will almost certainly have been fatigued, he was more susceptible to becoming injured from that contact. I know your sort don't like this word but it is actual science.
What recent rescheduling? The last game that was postponed was Mansfield in mid-November, most of the squad had 10 days off of playing. That’s on top of RW tinkering his starting line up every week and making 4 subs after 60 mins.

It wasn’t from contact, he rolled it during a challenge. There was no contact with his ankle.

The ‘brutal’ Christmas period gave them 1 less day recovery than a normal Sat, Tue, Sat schedule.

Thankfully we don't have the heavy Christmas schedule
Of the Christmas day Boxing day fixtures
1956 Liverpool away on Christmas day & the reverse fixture on boxing day.

Now that's a heavy schedule

Who said rescheduling? What are you trying to argue about now??

The rest is just the usual backwards and forwards nonsense. You think the human body can recover from 3 max exertion sessions in a week and isn’t more prone to injury when fatigued, sports science thinks otherwise.

Richie’s interview makes it clear that he considers a playoff push to be the priority. Nigel is on record saying he doesn’t expect a promotion push this season, but does like the idea of a lucrative cup run.

One way to square that circle is to bring some more players in. But it’s not clear that Nige and his dentist pal are prepared for that.

We have already won 120k in prize money for FA cup rounds.Another 25k if we lose against Derby WE have also gained 50k so far from the Bristol Motors cup . If all that goes to the players budget then that’s almost 200k towards paying for a good winger / CF

I think Wellens will fight tooth and nail to change their minds.

I'm beginning to doubt If this game will go ahead

Night temperatures every night till Saturday, are very low, with daytime temperatures hardly getting above zero

Currie is cup tied by Oxford so Sweeney will replace him. Cooper and Simpson should play. Obiero in midfield with Warrington. Give Clare and DJ 90 minutes. with injuries to Oniel Dan and Ball there is a problem with our attacking possibilities.. perhaps bring out Teddie Lamb up front if he has not signed for Man City next week. Any other ideas?
Any team we put out will beat them

Currie is not cup tied but so far they have refused permission for us to play him in the cup
As Oxford haven’t played a cup game yet it’s impossible for him to be cup tied

Oxford refusing permission, is the same as cup tied.
Different way of saying the same thing
Whatever phrase you want to say, Currie will not be playing in Saturday ( if the game happens l

Oxford refused permission for him to play in FA cup so he wouldn't be cup tied should they recall him in January. If they are not going to recall him perhaps they may now grant permission for him to play in the upcoming match. Obviously they could still recall him at any time until the end of the month but Richie seemed to be confident he would be staying

Richie didn’t seem confident at all. Richie has gone into sales pitch mode every time asked about him. Wouldn’t surprise me to find out he’s put a block on all incoming numbers with an Oxford dialing code just to be on the safe side.

Ritchie has said Sweeney will be playing Saturday…. plus every other player we’ve got that’s got two legs and hasn’t had the minutes.
