I think we have as it stands a really good squad of players, and Ritchies work with them is coming to fruition as shown in recent displays. It has been stated the aim this season is to stay in league 1 then to move on next season. This is why new investors are being sought by the club to provide the finance to buy the right players in the summer. If Agyei wants to move on then let him there are others out there just as good if not better. Look at where Josh Koroma, Bonne, and Dalby are now not exactly setting the world on fire. January is an awful time to get players in , there will be lots of desperate clubs out there paying well over the odds for players who are probably over the hill. I don’t want my club to be amongst them.Chicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 9:24 pm And that will probably be 18 or 19 year old academy players as per last season.

We have a really good squad of players and are aiming to stay in League 1? That doesn’t make sense.

We have an option on Galbraith for 25/26, so he can’t walk for nothing in the summer
Re number of loans, we are trying to sign Keeley, odds on Hemming returns to ‘Boro, that will mean we have 4 loans, space for one or two more, although obviously can only have 5 in the match day squad.
And some people think we are in with a chance of signing him

Re: RW interview after Burton
It’s been in several interviews, one was with Josh referring to talks between Spurs & O’s, another was with an O’s director(?) , can’t remember who , so it’s not what we think, it’s what the player & club have said. I doubt very much they are making it up. Whether it happens is another matter entirely.Bandy Legs wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 9:53 amJust signed a new contract at Spurs until 2027.B.whitehouse+10more wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 8:51 amOnly on here I think or X don’t think there is anything from the club

Oh, and RW said we’re trying to sign one of the loanees, when DD said who, RW wouldn’t say other than it ain’t Currie, Kelman, Donley, Perkins. Pick the bones out of that, it ain’t Hemming!

" Josh has just signed a new Spurs contract & is at a Premier League club & is out of our league".
Perkins is at Leeds & is on big wages Donley is also a premier League player, Currie isn't the one because Oxford still want him.
Richie said Charlie Kelman is out of contract in June, so from 1st of January he is allowed to talk to clubs.

Re: RW interview after Burton
Ritchie in the interview said we can’t afford Charlie’s wages and would have to pay a fee, so no chance re Kelman.
Maybe RW’s just playing his cards close to his chest, but JK said quite clearly that Spurs/O’s are in talks.

Whatever Charlie’s extortionate wages are right now, no one is going to offer him similar next contract.

I think we have the makings of a good squad but a couple of weaknesses, most notably in the forward position where only Agyei can lead the line, the wings where we miss Theo and Graham badly, and the 10 where we only have Galbraith.

Just had a look and the ep was left at the end of the interview, found the exact quote in the captions...
Episode 371 around 15 minutes in:
"...again we can't afford Charlie's wages..."
"we'd have to pay a fee for Charlie so that's a no-go as well"
Also later on there's a discussion about Keeley where Richie says he's a player we're interested in signing on a permanent deal

Thanks gshaw for that post
Bandylegs, I didn’t say RW said we are in for Donley, it’s the opposite, he’s on premier league wages that we can’t afford.
Be great if we can sign Keeley, think he’s a real prospect

Wellens has clearly had orders from the top to set low expectations about January. We desperately need some investors who are actually willing to spend. Grateful for everything the current owners have done but clearly they have run out of interest and/or cash. Going to be very hard justifying season ticket price increases again if they consistent bring in freebies and loanees kids every transfer window. The Reverend wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 9:51 amMy agenda being what exactly? Interesting how the piece above was deleted from the conversation as my comments related to this. First of all what proof do do you have to use the word “clearly” twice in your above statement, first he clearly has orders from the top to set low expectations about January, secondly the owners have clearly run out of interest and or cash, just because they are looking for new investors show they have the clubs best interest at heart as they have done since they stepped in and saved the club from administration , you do them a great disservice. Finally what proof do you have season ticket prices will be rising next season, as according to your recent comments we are building a squad for league 2.

Doesn't really make any sense for Spurs to be in a rush to sell him even if he's never making their first team. Having taken to League 1 football so well you'd think it'd be worth them trying him out at Championship level which would increase any potential transfer fee by a significant chunk.

First you reply to your own comment (I guess you forgot to log into the other alias account first…??). And the comment you reply to is having a dig at me for not including something from earlier in the conversation yet you elected to remove the most important bit of the conversation: the thing I was actually replying to (where somebody falsely accused me of changing my opinion about January transfers).
You’ve had an absolute nightmare here. What’s even funnier is that some of your criticism of my original post is actually fair enough but you’ve completely misunderstood what I was responding to Cockhat about in the first place.

I quoted what RW said, however as we can't afford Donleys wages, can I ask you how we could afford Keeleys being he is also a Premiership player on Premiership wages at the same Premiership club Donley is at on wages you have just stated we can't afford?
