Considering adopting Leyton Orient as my team

I have moved to E11 in the past couple of months and, as the subject states, I'm now looking for a club to adopt. Geography states that this should be Leyton Orient.

So what do I need to know before I dive in headfirst for a lifetime of abject mediocrity? My knowledge so far amounts to red shirts and a stint in charge on Football Manager, when James Brophy was quite the assist king cutting in from the wing.

* What is the current crop of players like?
* Who are the rising talents to keep an eye on?
* Are we pro the management and owners or do I need to say their names through gnashing teeth?
* Who exactly do we hate - is it West Ham or is that not relevant as we (listen to me, we...) rarely cross paths?
* Who are the legends that I should speak about in misty eyed tones? (RIP Justin Edinburgh)
* Should I refer to them as Orient, Leyton, or Leyton Orient? Or just the Os?
* And when would be a good occasion to make my debut? I was thinking Boxing Day but family committments have now ruined this, so might look at Dec 29th vs Cambridge.

Please don't reply with the usual 'don't bother and save yourself from years of torture' etc etc, I'm a lifelong Hull City fan who has been through it all - crowds under 4 figures, owners locking us out of our own stadium, bottom of the entire league with 1 month of the season to go etc.

50%: Pensioners and there descendants who were forced into it

25%: People aged 20-45 who have moved to the area and want to support the local team (as well as back home team)

Current crop- the summer window was not a good one. We've got a mixture of crocks and kids on loan. There's a few solid players and stars- Dan Happe, Tom James, Ethan Galbraith, Dan Agyei

Rising talent- Ollie O'Neill, Zech Obiero (out of favour)

Management have overseen an escape from relegation and a league two win. Richie Wellens is a very well liked northener, who doesnt bite his tongue.

Owners rescued the club from the brink, overseen two league wins and a cup final. Very open with fans. This year it seems that they may have hit a ceiling and rising costs have seen purse strings tightened.

Hate- a strong word but recent rivals have been our fellow promotion challengers. Since promotion to league one its whoever Steve Evans is in charge of.

Current team is good but shallow and lacks a striker

Pro manager who doesn’t get enough backing from the board but the chairman is a local fan so gets a pass. The Director of Football who has achieved three promotions in various guises comes in for a lot of of slack. The main bank roller pulled his money in the summer

No rivalries really given West Ham, Brentford etc have pulled away. A section of the fan base dislike whoever Steve Evans happens to be managing

O's is correct, for 2 reasons. 1) it's the official version, 2) it's a valid way of pluralising letters, numbers etc. ( e.g. 1980's, she got straight A's in her exams).

It does raise an interesting question though, which might take a PhD in advanced apostrophisation to answer. If a Hull fan were to refer to their stadium as the Tigers' stadium, would we have to say the O's' stadium?
