Re: Harris v. Trump
You're basically summarising the history of the development of human civilisation, so it's a tad unfair to aim it just at the USA. It's only a post-war liberal mindset that affords us the luxury of being so cynical when evaluating the USA.The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 10:38 am
Americans have had a belief that their country is the greatest ever to have existed, when in reality it's always been divisive and built on the backs of those on the edge and furthest away from " The American Dream".
The USA is an incredible country. There are times when it has been the greatest, and it has the ability to be so again. But being that great is hard work, and not guaranteed to succeed.

You're right of course about the history of human development, but if we want a fairer society then the present one needs to be torn down. The current one is killing the planet. Disruption and rebuilding is the only way.Dunners wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 11:00 amYou're basically summarising the history of the development of human civilisation, so it's a tad unfair to aim it just at the USA. Does it? Revolution as opposed to evolution? Who conducted this option appraisal and made that decision? The Mindsweep wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 11:21 amYou're right of course about the history of human development, but if we want a fairer society then the present one needs to be torn down. If Ed Miliband eating a bacon sandwich is weird then this surely will make the front pages of newspapers across the land?

Re: Harris v. Trump
People seem to focus in on her having a 'weird' laugh, whilst ignoring Trump deepthroating a microphone or dancing for half an hour like he's had a brain bleed. No point rationalising it.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 1:17 pm What had KH done that is unhinged? I honestly havent seen anything that makes her appear weird

Supporting state funded sex change surgery for prisoners and illegal immigrants is pretty unhinged

Even the tabloids will refrain from making reference to this kind of behaviour.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 11:31 amIf Ed Miliband eating a bacon sandwich is weird then this surely will make the front pages of newspapers across the land?

Re: Harris v. Trump
You don’t have to like the guy personally to agree with his policies . Kamala Harris and Walz are absolutely the worst two candidates the Democrats could have chosen . Anybody half decent would beat Trump but not those pair of clownsHoover Attack wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 1:25 pmYou accept Trump is unhinged yet still root for him?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 1:10 pmI saw that this morning onTV and thought WTF . Re: Harris v. Trump
Where I find this really weird about rd's love in for trump is that his policies would be bad for the UK. He's talking about a 10-20% tariff on all imports to the country. They are our biggest trading partner by far. It would be a disaster for our economy for the states to have a president supporting trade wars.
His biggest supporters in the UK are all brexit advocates who argue we needed to leave the EU to make global trade easier. It's baffling.

Re: Harris v. Trump
Trumps main policy is anti-immigration and I reckon that above all is what drives his support.

Re: Harris v. Trump
Anti immigration and “sticking it to the libs” are his policies.
All the progressive side has to do to win is to be sane and not mad.
Kamala Harris isn’t unhinged, but Pammy is right to point out that the left have given the right an open goal in some of the hugely indefensible ideas they support, many of which would have been a parody of progressive ideas a decade ago.
However, the fact remains that Trump is an existential threat to whatever democracy still exists in the US, and the Democrats are far far saner, and aren’t beyond hope of being dragged towards not being mad

Putting on strange fake accents depending on the audience she’s addressing and laughing at literally anything. When it comes to economics the woman hasn’t got a clue and her sidekick Walz is a weirdo . I feel sorry for the American public .Long slender neck wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 3:04 pmWell would you mind just telling me a couple?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 2:57 pmYou obviously haven’t been paying enough close attentionLong slender neck wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 1:17 pm What had KH done that is unhinged? Fake accents? I'd like to hear those. Re: Harris v. Trump
I’d need to try and do the link tonight when I get home. Just listen to her recent interviews to see she’s clueless . Asked about how she would improve the economy all we get from her is what it was like for her while she was growing up. I think both her parents were professors or at least highly educated so I don’t know just how tough things could have been for herLong slender neck wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 5:37 pmFake accents?
