A belated hello!

Post by Pagan Orient »

Apologies for not introducing myself earlier, I just noticed the speculation around my identity, so sorry to disappoint but I'm not an alias :D
So, long story short, my connection to the O's is through my Granddad. He was born in 1945 in Leytonstone, grew up in the area, went to lots of O's matches before moving up here (west Wirral) in the 60s. The tradition passed down to my dad & now to me. Yesterday was my first match of the season having come down on the choo choo with Dad & Grandad. I tend to get to about 10-15 matches a season, a combo of home & away. It's been a bit easier the past 3 years while I was at Sheffield Uni.
I hadn't actually realised this message board existed until my cousin mentioned in on WhatsApp yesterday! He said he was a regular poster on here up until about 12 years ago when he moved to Bermuda for work. He's now married to a Swedish girl with a couple of kids & likely to return to the UK next year for their senior schooling, although we all meet up at Christmas/New Year & take in a couple of matches.

Paragraphs please.

Does anyone know someone who is also allergic to paragraphs?

Was your cousin’s boardin’ name Coolred, by any chance?

^ Coolred took a fair bit of teasing on here after a pic of him looking like a Home Shopping Catalogue (ask yer mum) model got posted. Just remember he went to Bermuda to work and had some Scandi girlfriend at the time he was active, so what you wrote rang a bell. Pass on my greeting of Mazel Tov from City Slacker.
