Re: Oasis reunion
The tractor beam technology to get particles of cocaine up that nose surely didn’t exist in the 90s

He looked and talked like them but was fat and round, wearing some daft jumper that made him look like a womble. And despite having no discernible talent, was an even bigger arrogant c*nt than the pair of them.
This was th 90s tho, so may not have actually happened.

Re: Oasis reunion
Can I just say that thirty years ago I thought they were very boring and the Gallaghers a pair of empty headed gobshites.
I still do.
I still do.

Re: Oasis reunion
That's what I thought. I wasn't sure how it would go down with the fanboys crew on here.

Oasis fanboys are akin to the modern day fans of American singer Taylor Swift....''The Swifties'' the big difference being that the Swifties far outnumber Oasis devotees !!Max B Gold wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 10:49 am That's what I thought. Re: Oasis reunion
Just to clarify - I'm actually in the anti-Oasis camp. There's lots of reasons for this, but I'll give you two:
1. This "wall of sound" bollocks. It isn't a wall of sound (a la Spector), it just that the sound levels on the studio mixing desk channels were all maxed up without any skill or consideration to the dynamic range of the different instruments. It's a brick wall of noise. Speak to any sound engineer for an expletive ridden opinion of Oasis's studio recordings.
2. They normalised the concept of the VIP audience section at the front of their gigs. This is the worst thing to have ever happened in the history of live music. It means the real fans are shunted half a mile back, and the free-loading luvvies (of whom I would usually be fully on side with) get to act as an atmosphere sponge and suck the life out of any event.
I mean, just look at this image from their Knebworth House gig. That VIP semi-circle in front of the stage is about the size of a medium sized venue on its own.

Re: Oasis reunion
....but, I appreciate that they identified and mastered a successful formula for their brand:
- Basic chord progression (keep it simple for mass consumption)
- Stick to tried and tested pop song structure (intro, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, middle-eight, chorus, outro)
- Carefully curated image (a composite of the preceding, but largely organic, indie/Manc style guide)
- Create earworms - This takes skill and is easier said than done, but even non-fans would be able to hum/sing along to some of their songs.

This is true. 4 tickets plus accommodation.
I set them a quiz to name an early track. One said Girls and Boys.

The wall of sound is to disguise their poor musicianship.Dunners wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 11:31 am Just to clarify - I'm actually in the anti-Oasis camp. There's lots of reasons for this, but I'll give you two:

And yes sectioning off the proles from the toffs was just a part of the neo liberal zeitgeist of the era actively promoted by Old New Labour who didn't care about the rich getting stinking rich (to paraphrase the friend of the peedo Epstein. Who I see is now back advising Nu New Labour)

Re: Oasis reunion
I saw the prices and realised that I'm no longer surprised. And that will be standing in the pleb section, separated from the stage by a VIP section.

Great to have you on Board Squidney. I will send link to sign the petition that calls for her to do a reverse Tom Jones at her recitals.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 1:24 pmAre you also a member of the ''Swifties'' fan club ?Max B Gold wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 11:45 amNo we're not!! Re: Oasis reunion
doesn't work like that it's the promoters who make ticket prices. band gets a fee per gig. obviously the brothers are getting a fair whack. i deal with the royalties for a living.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 1:26 pmTaking their fans for mugs, still the brothers are so in need of the money !

Re: Oasis reunion
After seeing this video of this scantily clad young woman, just dont get it as to why these youngsters go so crazy about her ? Poor choice of songs and she has an equally poor singing voice and apart from wiggling her butt around nothing much else in her act, OMG the world over so many deluded young fans !Max B Gold wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 3:48 pmGreat to have you on Board Squidney.
