It's not hate but he's simply not a first choice league one LB. He try's his best but he's not good enough . OK as a squad player but that's it . Interesting that from wanting only two more players after the Dagenham game Richie now wants two or three . A new LB is needed along with a winger and midfielder .

Exactly . I thought the idea of letting Hunt go was to replace him with somebody who was more athletic. I'm surprised therefore we're playing Sweeney there who struggled to get on the bench last season , let alone in the team

At the start of summer I recall it being said that we were looking for athletic full backs (plural) which somewhere along the line got cut down to one. Perhaps that's the third player now being looked at

Are people saying Sweeney isn’t athletic?
Didn’t watch the game but his attacking threat is decent. I assume Richie has said that if he’s going to keep his place then he has to be more mindful of his defensive responsibilities and therefore isn’t bombing on as much. Some people will find anything to moan at about him

He needs to get a run of 10, maybe even 15 games and told as much. That any mistakes will be put down to a learning experience. You could tell last year that he looked worried about making mistakes because every game he had made them in the past, he sat in the stands for 3 months until his next chance.
I think he has got it but we ain’t gonna know unless he gets a run. If he isn’t up to it we move on
