This is comfortably the worst we've looked under Southgate at a tournament. He clearly has no idea how he wants his midfield set up or the qualities he's looking for in a partner for Rice. He's played TAA for his ability to play balls in behind, only to play no forwards to run onto it. Played Gallagher cause he can press, only to realise he has zero ability on the ball against a team sitting deep, and then hauls him off at half time. He's obviously decided Bellingham needs to play as a 10 as he did for Madrid this season, despite it being obvious we need his quality further back on the pitch. And the lack of a fit actual left back is totally obvious to all.
It's a mess. There's a chance we make the quarters if it's Czech next round, otherwise the Netherlands will dump us out.

Only if there was a white palace defender playing as well, but even then he could just say Guehi. He's also been excellent, so the post is moronic as well as racist.

Guehi defensive and all round play has been one of the few England positives in this football tournament.

Seen this so many times before. All we need is the senior players to sit down and decide how they want us to play, have a meeting with the manager and tell him their plan, and we turn things around overnight.
I’ve foed him anyway because faith has yet to make a coherent post and adds nothing. Will leave it there as it’s pretty clear what that post was about and if a mod wants to ignore it then there’s not a lot I can do.
The only thing I will say is it’s a pretty common trait of bis and racism where black players get called out more for the same things white players do. On and off the pitch.
