Re: Craig Clay
Probably on too much money now they have been relegated. He'll find somewhere in the National League.

Re: Craig Clay
In my opinion he can still do a job at league Two level but might have to settle for a club in the National League. It will be interesting to see where Craig ends up.

Re: Craig Clay
Smith was Sutton's highest goal scorer last season and offered a new contract which he turned down.
In the case of Craig Clay, as far as I can make out he was released, contract expired.

Re: Craig Clay
He didn't play much last season - was injured for quite a lot of it.
CDAJ in League Two certainly, and having won the title there just over a year ago he should be able to find another Club at that level. Maybe only a 1yr deal at his age though.

Re: Craig Clay
Obviously but I still think Craig can do a decent job for somebody but probably in the National League

Re: Craig Clay
You never get to know how much of that disagreement is value for money. He may have got a great deal last season and based on both his effectiveness and injury record he was let go. He was probably at the top end of Suttons wage structure IMO and offered Sutton very little back last season.

Pinning the title win on clay is bit of a stretch.

Re: Craig Clay
Clay had his time at the Os, now time for him to move on to pastures new.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 2:27 pm He can do lots of running about but for gods sake keep him away from the ball.
Hopefully if he can keep fit, he will still have something to offer to a team playing in Division Two or the National league, we shall see ?
