When you look back that National league squad was crazy
Bonne, Koroma, Marvin all went to play in the Championship, Brophy League One
And we got barely anything for them in return
We got promotion back to L2.
Came to say the same, we got those players on a free, they did a great job for us, won a title then moved on for free (exception of Koroma who got us a few quid)
Nothing wrong with that, same as Smyth and Vigs as well from the League 2 title squad.

There’s everything wrong with not protecting your assets and then expecting fans to cover your shortcomings.
Orient should be selling players and reinvesting into the squad.

Bonne came to us (on a free?) in the National League as a Football League failure, came good, scored the goals that got us back up, then was sold on for an initial fee plus sell ons for somewhere in the region of half a million.
Would you class the current third year of Moncur's contract an 'asset'?

With the recent change heading towards more of "the Brentford model" we are going down that route, Travis / Kent have mentioned they're going for more 2+1 arrangements where we get the third year option in our favour for exactly that reason.
However I'd rather see 2 full years of a quality player, achieving success with us than 1 and a bit years then going in January and their promise remains unfulfilled. Suspect with finances being as problematic as they are due to the stadium restrictions we will see a few sales over the next couple of years if our players impress sufficiently to garner external interest.

Moncur isn’t young and coming off the back of a great goalscoring season, so no. Bonne was let go for an absolute pittance.
Orient have been terrible at developing players and selling on. Even someone has happy clappy and delusional as you has to agree the club have been poor at that.

Moncur isn’t young and coming off the back of a great goalscoring season, so no. Bonne was let go for an absolute pittance.
