Steve Smith of Australia.
A rare failure for Steve Smith today...........he only scored 92 runs against England !!
This follows his first test scores of 144 in the first innings and 142 in the second innings, Bradman like form indeed !!
Still he did have an excuse today for ONLY scoring 92 runs, he was hit by a fast delivery on his arm and then hit again by another fast ball, this time on his neck, both times the bowler was Archer. Smith had to go off the field for a while after the blow to his neck, looked really bad at the time. Now England are batting again and Smith is not fielding, I guess taking time off while his injury's are being assessed.
Smith lbw b Woakes 92

Re: Steve Smith of Australia.
I watched the highlights tonight and Jofra Archer roughed him up. Smith gave him some back but Archer smashed his forearm first and then his helmet with 96mph short pitched deliveries. Smith went to hospital for an x-ray on his arm and they have said it is not broken, he has also passed tests for concussion.

The ball hit him in the neck not his helmet...Lovejoy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:53 pm I watched the highlights tonight and Jofra Archer roughed him up. Archer just clocked Smith's replacement in the grille too. He's brutal.

Poor show, booing Smith after he returned to batting. Not very British. More like the English though.

Can’t see him missing TBH. That Labuschagne as a replacement was handy though.

Re: Steve Smith of Australia.
His replacement did very well considering Archer hit the grille of his helmet and knocked him over early in his innings.Disoriented wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2019 8:59 pmCan’t see him missing TBH. That Labuschagne as a replacement was handy though.

Re: Steve Smith of Australia.
Somehow I just don't mind what we do to them just so long as we win, It ain't sporting but neither are they.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2019 4:16 pm Archer just clocked Smith's replacement in the grille too. He's brutal.

I agree wholeheartedly. He was booed because he is a cheat, not because of his cricketing prowess or guts.TrickorTreat wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2019 10:00 pm Of course they should boo Steve Smith and David Warner.....They are cheats

Re: Steve Smith of Australia.
England have to win two plus one draw to regain ashes. Weather may have a lot to say on outcome, given last two tests are in September.Disoriented wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 11:08 am Out of the Third Test - goodbye to the Ashes for the Aussies.

Long range looks fine. Aussies are a one man team and we have broken the fella.
