True. I couldn’t believe their player just watched the ball. Good on Galbraith being aggressive. If their player heads it out it’s game over

Re: Last night's key moment
That same Northampton bloke got thrown to the floor by Rob Hunt when they were tussling by the ground. Just because someone is big doesn’t mean they are strong.

Re: Last night's key moment
Love Ruel’s interview where he said Cooper usually smashes it out the ground.
That was some impact substitution by Ruel.
Agree re Galbraith, quality player.
And Ollie O’Neill looks like he could be a fantastic player.
Injuries and, I think, suspension to Brown means RW doesn’t have a lot to choose from v Burton, esp as Ruel and James are carrying knocks.

Re: Last night's key moment
Excellent header from Galbraith. One of the real stand ours from last night was how much our young players - including the loanees - were bang up for it and gave absolutely no quarters. Recall Forde launching into a clattering challenge towards the end.

Add an experienced number 9 to that and I can’t imagine there’s a better group at this level. Although Forde, Ruel and Theo might not be here next year.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 10:26 am Next season with Agyei, Graham, O'Neill, Theo, possibly Shaq, Ruel, and a born again Moncs.....

Re: Last night's key moment
Assuming we give Theo a new contract and he accepts, from what RW said last evening then we’re not going to see Theo till a decent chunk of next season has already been played.
I hope he makes a full recovery.
Forde would be a great signing.
I wonder if Ruel we sign a new contract? I hope he does.

Re: Last night's key moment
I can see Forde staying/being signed permanently. Not done any research into this so happy to be corrected but Watford don't seem to be a club that has much of a pathway for younger players into the first team so his chances there may be limited. Also, good as he is, can't really see another Champ club picking him up and giving him game time, whereas RW clearly rates him and he's become a really valuable player in our excellent young side. Could be good for all parties.

Forde has improved immensely since his first couple of games when I wasn’t impressed.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 10:56 am I can see Forde staying/being signed permanently. He looks far more confident now and must have a fair chance of being offered a deal in the Summer.

Re: Last night's key moment
Forde clearly has a better appreciation of what he has to do for 90 minutes than he did 3 months ago. He would have been stood 30 yards away from some of the defensive positions he took up last night.
It looks like he's going to get double figures this season which at his age makes him a valuable asset. If he was a minimal cost plus a sell-on then I'd be happy to see him on the books.

Think he’s out of contract with Watford at the end of the season.LittleMate wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 1:29 pmForde clearly has a better appreciation of what he has to do for 90 minutes than he did 3 months ago. Guess we may have to pay some compensation due to his age but not sure how that works

True . I watched the highlights this morning and that was a great piece of play from Galbraith .Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 7:30 am True. I couldn’t believe their player just watched the ball. Good on Galbraith being aggressive. If their player heads it out it’s game over

Re: Last night's key moment
I know it’s not my money and it’s easy for me to say it but we must break the bank in the Summer to sign El-Miz and Forde on permanent deals. If we want a good shot at promotion next season they are the type of players we need to be signing.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 1:31 pmThink he’s out of contract with Watford at the end of the season.LittleMate wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 1:29 pmForde clearly has a better appreciation of what he has to do for 90 minutes than he did 3 months ago. I believe we only have to pay compo if Watford offer him a contract, otherwise he is a free agent.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 1:31 pmThink he’s out of contract with Watford at the end of the season.LittleMate wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 1:29 pmForde clearly has a better appreciation of what he has to do for 90 minutes than he did 3 months ago. Re: Last night's key moment
Forde's first couple of games were - I believe - Blackpool away as sub then Cambridge at home. He was brilliant in both.

Re: Last night's key moment
There will be lots of competition for a 19 year old goalscoring wide player.
I'd love it if we sign him - he is replaceable with another loan deal, but that's always a gamble, whereas we know what we will get from him.

Re: Last night's key moment
Another thing about Forde: he hardly ever gets subbed off, and usually does the full 90 or very close to it. Even though he’s a young un, Richie obviously rates him very highly, and I think we can all now see why.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 1:55 pm There will be lots of competition for a 19 year old goalscoring wide player.
