Re: Manager of the month
Key question: why IS our Richie such a good manager? Is it partly because he never quite fulfilled his great potential as a player? Answers on a postcard…

Re: Manager of the month
Both he and JE have that leadership "X Factor" that I'm still trying to figure out if it's nature or nurture that sets them apart from, say Embleton (who was great as a coach but miles off as a leader)Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 10:15 am Key question: why IS our Richie such a good manager? One thing I remember with both was knowing from their first interview that they were the right man for the job. With JE it was the fan Q&A he did early on and with RW the training session video. Both times there's something about their confidence and the way they held the room you know it's someone who knows what they're doing.

Agreed and the pictures released today explain it well. He's got all his staff in the picture because its their award too. I'm sure he does it with the players. His man management skills are first rate.gshaw wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 1:29 pmBoth he and JE have that leadership "X Factor" that I'm still trying to figure out if it's nature or nurture that sets them apart from, say Embleton (who was great as a coach but miles off as a leader)Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 10:15 am Key question: why IS our Richie such a good manager? Absolutely this. You can see the players love working for him, not to mention some of his brilliant post match interviews that has Dulcet Dave in fits of laughter (me as well!).gshaw wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 1:29 pmBoth he and JE have that leadership "X Factor" that I'm still trying to figure out if it's nature or nurture that sets them apart from, say Embleton (who was great as a coach but miles off as a leader)Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 10:15 am Key question: why IS our Richie such a good manager? Also we have heard previously that he does not beat around the bush with players as to why they are not in the squad....he tells them as he sees it. Obviously we are not 100% on that but players have said the same I think.
