Re: Exiles and match thread vs Chesterfield 3rd Dec
Just so bad. I can stomach us struggling to adjust our style to a higher level as we play better teams. But the number of aimless stray passes, poor decisions, the general passivity, it is abysmal to watch right now and doesn't seem to resemble the team from last season at all.
We have really difficult fixtures in the run up to the Christmas period and at the moment, it feels like we're waiting for January. Really grim.

A team won’t win matches if it doesn’t score. A lost opportunity today. T&T won’t be happy as they want a good cup run for funds.

3 shots/1 goal - thoroughly enjoyed that. Up the Os.

FT Listening only but from the sounds of it - we were awful and giving away an own goal against a side that wasn't much better but, as Matt Hiscock says - wanted it more. Embarrassing; we are in disarray and I wonder what RW is going to do for the rest of the season?

Re: Exiles and match thread vs Chesterfield 3rd Dec
Embarrassing.
I’m not one of those that think we should be barrelling over non-league teams in a competition like this. But we literally had no idea as to how to break them done. None. And we looked shattered and lacking energy and fight. That’s the real worry. Careless passes, losing possession easily, no inventiveness or aggressiveness.
Corner in the last minute floated in and no orient player within 5 yards of their defender. Went down with no fight, which is the concern

Then we deserve to get knocked out the cup . I don't hold much hope of getting anything out of Derby next Saturday .We offer nothing going forward.

Could see it a mile off. To be fair RW changed it. I think we are very low on confidence and have no belief.

We won't get that many . With no goal threat we're in trouble . At the moment you have to say we look a poor sidecorkeireorient wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 4:03 pm Tough fixtures for Dec; = 4pts is all we get i reckon

I just feel angry. It's not losing to a non League side - it's the way we did. Played as if we couldn't be bothered.

Re: Exiles and match thread vs Chesterfield 3rd Dec
We will obviously be making signings, we look on our arse atm. I know the board have talked about having a set budget but they will not want to risk a relegation and they will find some funds for a new forward player at least.Story of O wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 4:03 pmWhat’s happening in January?Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 3:57 pm Just so bad. Re: Exiles and match thread vs Chesterfield 3rd Dec
Unlucky freak og to lose a football match, but we are toothless. Not only that but we are slow, not direct enough, and too many players not of the quality required.
Wellens tried to change it, but the raw materials he's working with ar'nt good enough.
Abysmal

I can’t recall the last January where we actually signed players who made a differenceMistadobalina wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 4:12 pmWe will obviously be making signings, we look on our arse atm. Really could have done with Drinnan up top today to give us some presence and a bit of fight. Their skipper won everything without breaking sweat.

Jan 2014 - Chris Dagnall is my thought on your comment. I can't think of anyone since. But then he spoilt the good effect he had, by missing a penalty at Wembley on 25/5/14.Story of O wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 4:20 pm I can’t recall the last January where we actually signed players who made a difference
