Agyei on for Ruel who’s been struggling since doing something to his leg in the first minute

Sounds like we're awful and still on the way to the ground. Hope Richie gives them what for at half time.

Could have Pele upfront, there is no service, it's slow, ponderous, predictable, so easy to defend against

Awful from what I've heard/seen. Our best CB and our best goalscorer both injured and a comical own goal.
Fear for Ageyi coming onto a rock hard pitch. Something needs to change 2nd half.

We just have zero goal threat. Nothing.
Forde out muscled. Isolated.
Midfield no creativity.
I just can’t see where a goal will come from.
What’s really concerning is Chesterfield are not good, but we are worse.

Think it was only Drinan.

Never known a season like this for injuries, Happe & Ruel join the injury list
Let’s hope we get through this game without anymore injuries.
As for the result, it would be good to get a draw and take them back to Brisbane road, but to do that you have to create chances and have an attacking threat, which sadly we do not have.
Never give up and hopefully we can do something different in 2nd half as that was poor, looks like 2 x NL teams.

No one thinks it’s only drinan. But having a wage taken by someone who has less than 0 goal threat doesn’t help?Joe315 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 2:53 pmYup but poundhill redwarf & comeontwit allessexfootball wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 2:49 pm Could have Pele upfront, there is no service, it's slow, ponderous, predictable, so easy to defend against

Is you point that as soon as drinan gets injured we should score 3-4 a game without a replacement?

Pratley and Piggot on. Good move. Bit of experience

Re: Exiles and match thread vs Chesterfield 3rd Dec
Last season Moncur meant we had someone from midfield who could carry the ball into the final 3rd. Smyth meant we had someone who could stretch defences. The former making himself unavailable by being unable to get fit and the latter leaving has meant we are missing two key players for the system Wellens plays.
Wellens is partly accountable for the fact we have so many central midfielders, almost none of whom can attack, but the injuries have been horrendous.

It'd been obvious for ages we are struggling to
Have a side fit enough to gel on a regular basis.

With Agyei on the way back to full fitness maybe we should forget about a striker and bring in two wingers instead . If we can’t create any chances we’re not going to score

The injuries haven’t been horrendous. No more injuries than just about every other team will get in a season.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 3:06 pmLast season Moncur meant we had someone from midfield who could carry the ball into the final 3rd.
