Why have Leyton Orient scored just one goal from 87 corner kicks? I watched almost all of them so you don't have to. Here are some stats and trends I found 👇

I always chuckle to myself when fans go mad cheering corners awarded to us. Over many years , they normally end up achieving zero.

All these different numbered cards the coaching staff used to hold up to signify different set piece corners and all for nought . Just bang the ball into the box and hope one of our players can get a head on it

But we have Daryl McMahon now as our set piece coach, surely things will improve 😊

Well we've scored one goal off a corner since he's arrived, which is an improvement from the zero before. Then again, it only came because the goalkeeper flubbed the cross.

What would be just as interesting to see would be how many times the opposition score following an Orient corner. Ball gets cleared, breakaway ensues, we get caught short at the back by lively, pacey opposition forwards and the ball ends up in the net. Any stats available for how often that has happened? I bet it's more than once!

Thought they looked dangerous vs Oxford. Definitely something we could improve.

Just get the team to watch Aldershot Town vs Leyton Orient on YouTube.

Coulson attacks the ball with a complete disregard to anything else going on around him.

Ruel's goal last week was the result of a set piece.

Shouldn't we also consider how we defend set plays as well? From my unscientific perspective, it looks as though we have improved, except in the games Sam Howes has played

Those and Matt Harold’s against Harrogate are the only ones I can remember.

This is another little criticism I have of Dan Happe. Given his height and bulk he should be scoring more goals from corners.

I can remember two goals we've conceded from our corners and both weirdly against Northampton away.
One last season when Theo took a corner down our away end they went up and scored and again this season, can't remember who took the actual corner but Gailbraith lost possession after the initial corner and Hoskins scored their equaliser.
