Re: Who used to have a stack?
Used to have a pretty decent Akai stack. Now have a Naim amp, Rega deck (both from Audiobarn) and tall Kef speakers. For radio I have a Yamaha music caste streamer. Gives me internet radio and Spotify. Unfortunately BBC radio has dropped out since they went to Sounds so have to bluetoot. Use a dvd player for cds.

Blimey. My separates are still in the attic in boxes, but off the top of my head -
Rega Planer 3 turntable with a Rega arm and Ortofon cartridge
A&R Cambridge A60 amplifier
A&R Cambridge tuner
Nakamichi cassette deck (not the Dragon, sadly)
KEF Celef Domestic S2 speakers
The Rega is a thing of simplistic beauty, and is still in production 40 years later

Loved that shop but couldn't afford one at the time. Still the Spy Shop has subsequently given the Mods a lot of tech to keep this Board in order and the people on it under observation.Loin Cloth Lenny wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 11:03 pm Bought mine from Sonic Electronics, now the Spy Shop Lea Bridge Road.

The Regas are cracking, and have enjoyed the longevity they have for a reason..Stowaway wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 12:39 am Blimey. My separates are still in the attic in boxes, but off the top of my head -

Think I had the P1 (basic model) for a while way back. Taking the platter off to change the speed did my head in so I switched, but that doesn't detract from a cracking machine.
If you have mostly 33s (or mostly 45s) it's no issue of course but all my records are mixed..

Re: Who used to have a stack?
The Marantz stuff is really well regarded.. I've got a CD60 coming this week after I traded an Audiolab 8300CDQ for it. I'm hopeful it's an upgrade of sorts..mildandbitter wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 5:38 pm Audio Technica LP5X Deck

Amp wise, I'm using two old NADs (C270 & C370) as monoblocks at the moment- they dish out some serious power, as well as a decent amount of range, but of course, they're both over 20 years old..
