Re: New Book
Ok well in that case try fried egg, chips and beans or fish fingers, chips and beans with a couple of slices of bread and butter and and in place of the bottle of wine, have a cup of tea instead !Cheshunto wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 3:17 pm£44.99 isn’t enough for a good meal plus wine at Orient SidSid Bishop wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 2:51 pmNot that bad for a man of your means, price of a good meal out and a bottle of reasonable wine !Max B Gold wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 2:38 pm £44.99 caramba!! Re: New Book
It is not that expensive when you consider a replica shirt costs about £50.
The book would be better value in my opinion.

Re: New Book
Just how many of these Leyton Orient books have been published over the years. Once you've read one, you've basically read them all.

Re: New Book
Potentially, this could be very good. Although the author has been in South Africa for many years and I don't think has been to a match for a very long time.Chicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 7:17 pm Just how many of these Leyton Orient books have been published over the years. Re: New Book
I would stress that I've not read it myself, so this isn't my opinion - but I have heard some grumbling that the Dave Victor fronted one is a bit overpriced too. I think that'll just be the way with any Club "official" product for the foreseeable future.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 10:29 am It may represent OK value but no way am I paying nearly £50 for a book.

Re: New Book
Unless you want information on results, teams and players since 2006. We don't have a website with all that information in one place, unlike even BarnetChicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 7:17 pm Just how many of these Leyton Orient books have been published over the years. Re: New Book
It's £44.99 to get your name in the book. Loads of people will be happy to pay this.
It'll then be a more reasonable price when on the shelves.
I wonder how much material Kaufmann failed to return in the making of this book?

Re: New Book
There have been two "Complete Records" books. One in 1999 and one in 2006 and it would be correct that all matches, results and lineups appearing in 2006 would have appeared in the earlier edition, however the rest of the book is different. Good job he is not updating "The Men Who Made Leyton Orient" as that might be nearer £100.

Mind you he did go there to work with the Marxist Workers Tendency in the ANC.

Re: New Book
No idea about what? Whether South Africa operated a policy of apartheid in 1989? Fairly well known that they did.
