To be fair, a LOT of 18+ rated stuff is infantile.
It’s probably better to just embrace that they’re fun and that those who don’t enjoy them don’t enjoy them.

Are you saying you will never grow up?
So why are some games 18+ if video games are only for kids?
Good point. Not all games are for kids, some are for the incel geeky types.

Is it a marketing ruse so as not to damage the self esteem of the grown up adult kids who play them? Just a guess.

I got Wreckfest on my phone for 89p. Incredible that we are seeing games like this which originally came out on PS4 run and load quicker on my midrange handset, although perhaps I should not be surpised as technology marches on and I've had the PS4 for about a decade.

I have not played it but it is the 'spiritual successor' to Theme Hospital which I played about 25 years ago.

I downloaded the Mame emulator to show my kid the arcade games I used to play and was then disappointed by how underwhelmed he was by my ability to still remember where every enemy spawns in OutZone. I had to admit OutRun is actually complete turd but he was interested by Street Fighter II for about two seconds because Ryu and Ken are characters in Mario Super Smash.

The Crew 2 is about 79p on Playstation, Xbox and PC

Portal Companion (1 &2 ) is less than a fiver on Switch, absolute classic puzzling game.

Astrobot rescue mission PSVR was a 10/10 game for me so will get that once a PS5 becomes a worthwhile purchase. No VR is disappointing though.

Just picked up a PS5 on the cheap. I dont even really want one but it'll never be cheaper

https://direct.playstation.com/en-gb/netflix

PS Plus members get £215 credit to their Netflix bill when you buy a console direct from Sony

So I've bought a PS5 for £389, minus the credit coming to me thats £174

If you dont have psplus just sign up for 1 month for £6.99

I would like some please. I’ve had a PS5 for a few years but it gathers dust. I played Gran Turismo a bit but that’s it. I usually only play Football Manager on my laptop but that’s cancelled this year so I need an alternative.

Problem is I haven’t owned a console for circa 20 years so don’t know where to start.

I used to like Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne (PC), Actua Golf and Knockout Kings (PS1) and Goldeneye (N64). So any games like that will do cheers 👍🏻

As mentioned above, Astro Bot is brilliant. It’s more of a Mario-ish platform game than any of the above, but properly fun.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is supposed to be brilliant if you’re into the RPG thing. I couldn’t get into it myself, though.

Depending on how much you’ve played in the last decade or so, if The Last Of Us or The Witcher 3 are new to you, ps5 is the best way of playing either of those

The Last Of Us tv series has put me off ever playing the game though

God of War.

Currently based on Norse mythology (first batch of games were Greek myth). It is bloody and violent but also, as with all of the games, the story is brilliant and absorbing.

Aah, and (while this is PS4) Detroit: Become Human is story driven, with branching narratives like a gamebook, and a bit Bladerunnerish

Oh yes, and God of War, as just mentioned

The lead girl was far too annoying (I know she’s meant to be).

I also found the whole concept a bit depressing. I usually quite enjoy a depressing film but only if it’s grounded in reality…. If that makes sense
