We did OK. Lacking in some areas but we've got injuries already impacting possible selections. Charlton also looked quite good so a 1-0 reverse, away, is far from being a terrible result. Got to give us some time to sort out our best team, given the early injuries.
Well neither of those injured upfront are healing anytime soon and Sotiriou isn't the answer so we need to get quality in upfront and soon.
On the plus side seems we're in safe hands with Brynn
A loss is a loss but we did better than I thought we would against one of the fancied teams for promotion this season . I didn''t think we played badly today but it showed where we need strengthening . Hopefully the club will add to the squad before next Saturday . I don't think anybody else will be signed before Tuesday night so I'm not looking forward to the cup game against Plymouth .

Set up not to lose rather than win which is…different. Charlton will be well up there . Not too disappointed but would have liked more than one shot.
Only thing that worries me from that performance is that all our fullbacks looked very off the pace. Hunt and Sweeney were awful, albeit Hunt was up against as good a winger as you'll see all season.

Agree about Hunt, and James wasn't much better. Sweeney had a good game though.

That was one outside concern coming into this season, none of them are particularly pacey and Sweeney is a gamble at L1 level. Hunt badly exposed today so RW will need to find a solution to that.

We must have watched a different game agree Hunt was way off form but Sweeney had a good game ???

For a few years we were weak in midfield but decent up front, now it’s the other way round.
Yeah CM looks cracking, was hoping we were going to be similarly ambitious upfront but keeping the likes of Sotiriou and Drinan at this level is... less than ideal
Thing is it's all very well saying "ah unlucky" today but reinforcements upfront will be needed as you get nothing for effort if you don't score goals. Have to hope for good news on the signing front this week.
Martin said there was £300,000 for reinforcements in January .Personally speaking I would take a gamble and use that money now .We need a decent first half to the season if we hope to survive in League 1.

Agreed, we saw last season how important a good start can be. Given our midfield is well sorted going to have to suck up the additional 6 months' wages and get the "January" striker in now.
Even one coming in is running it thin given we need to make more of a push on the cup competitions this year.

Reasonably competitive showing, away to one of the bigger teams in the division. And with lots of last-minute injuries to our attacking players before the curtain-raiser. If anyone starts going OFF at the players, manager or DOF after that, they've completely lost all sense of proportion.
Finally, some common sense.
Today showed that we can cope with the big occasion and do a job against technically superior opponents, and still remain true to Richie's footballing principles.
