Mixed feelings. The last pair that signed a contract extension ( Bonne & Koroma), were sold within a few months

But you do know why they were sold, right?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 8:12 pm Mixed feelings. The last pair that signed a contract extension ( Bonne & Koroma), were sold within a few months
If Happe is sold then fair play to the guy for cracking on with his development to attract a fee that activates his substantial buyout.

I remember that interview in which Bonne was waxing lyrical about how he loved it here, and how he was going to do in league 2 etc etc, knowing in reality, he was going to go as soon as the first club to meet the fee required came along.
im a loyal person and value loyalty, but the game now is too geared towards the players and they show little loyalty anymore

That's a great quality for you to have in everyday life but highly romantic and unrealistic in a modern football sense.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 8:32 pmOf course i know why they were sold.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 8:15 pmBut you do know why they were sold, right?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 8:12 pm Mixed feelings. And if they both turned down the chance to sign for a team two leagues higher, you could say they lack ambition. They're human beings like everyone else, they want better jobs and to better themselves like a normal person.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 8:32 pmOf course i know why they were sold.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 8:15 pmBut you do know why they were sold, right?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 8:12 pm Mixed feelings. Like the loyalty the clubs shows towards players, you mean? Lee and Lawless, for instance, or the academy lads who didn't make it?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 8:32 pmOf course i know why they were sold.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 8:15 pmBut you do know why they were sold, right?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2019 8:12 pm Mixed feelings. Re: It’s dan happe
It wasn't a few months either. Not sure where he is coming from.
Both were 12 months and showed us loyalty by signing that contract when they could have gone elsewhere or seen out a contract that wouldn't lead us to getting paid like we did, and a big part of the reason we won the league.
Ultimately, I believe we are now stronger up front then we were last season and have money in the bank plus potential future income from the sale of two very loyal players.
