30 years ago this was happening, its a comedy sketch I know, but it was right on the money. Same applies today. Country is an ex-country

Re: Who's voting today?
You could apply the above to Labour and the Liberals. They all think we are stupid. The decision is which party will bankrupt us slowest.

Re: Who's voting today?
Local elections tend to get 20-30% turnout. Never really understood that as they are far more likely to affect your local surroundings.
I will be voting later. "Can't moan about it unless you are a part of it"

Re: Who's voting today?
No voting in my Ward today. Will be interesting as Tory Thurrock has managed to lose £1.5bn with no real explanation. All services have been cut and Council Tax has been hiked way above legal limit. On my local Facebook page, twats still saying: they all as bad as each other, bigging up the Tories, Labour just as bad. They are in complete denial of the reality.

Re: Who's voting today?
Correct and that's why I can't vote for any of the three main party's . They are all crap . Saying that I'm expecting Labour to do very well in these local elections .

Didnt they buy a load of solar farms? Sounds like a shrewd investment.Friend or faux wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 10:21 am No voting in my Ward today. They're all politicians but they're far from all the same.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 10:25 amCorrect and that's why I can't vote for any of the three main party's . They are all crap .
One party has been in power for a decade and is therefore responsible for whats happened since.

Postal vote several weeks back.
I’m on the Town (Parish) Council, so had the pleasure of voting for myself … so I’ll get at least one vote!

It would be interesting if you only win by one vote .Orient_Man_And_Boy wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 10:56 am Postal vote several weeks back.

Re: Who's voting today?
Yes they are the only ones who really bother to campaign and have a few seats on the council already

Re: Who's voting today?
More predictable is that we have 10 names for 9 seats. The person with a surname at the end of the alphabet is bottom on the ballot paper … least votes?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 11:01 amIt would be interesting if you only win by one vote .Orient_Man_And_Boy wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 10:56 am Postal vote several weeks back.

I’m actually being a Poll Clerk right now (on my lunch break). The demographic of voters is very much on the older side.

For balance there should also be a course teaching students why society is intrinsically unfair and how it should be possible to smash the economic system underpinning it and put something nicer in its place. One where the wealth created by societies inhabitants is shared equally.

I say Commie Bast-rd.............Your Commie mates didn't look so hot end of 1980's onwards. The countries under the Commie yoke couldn't ditch them fast enough. You allegedly live in Jockshire, I am currently reading a book about them parts in 1970's & 1980's: everyone seemed to be snorting, doped or tripping on acid if not boozed up. I am not convinced much has changed.

I do live in Jockshire.
A small number of people alienated and discarded by capitalist society were doing the drugs you mention. Some people in a similar position still are. As evidence I submit the motion picture Trainspotting II
