Re: The blue rope
The blue rope has got to be the funniest and most stupidest idea I think I have ever seen, did the club seriously think a little blue rope held by a few stewards would work

Re: The blue rope
Exactly . The steward I was speaking to said they had to show the EFL they did something but knew it wouldn't work . It was just bullshit for the EFL.

Re: The blue rope
They used a rope on Tuesday. They weren’t using it to stop people getting on the pitch.

Re: The blue rope
The Steward on the East Side was kindly lifting the rope and urging the crowd to come forward and 'do the limbo' to get on the pitch. Which I did. I do love a pitch invasion - its the best way to celebrate. As long as no idiots spoil it I think it is a lovely way of bringing the team and fans closer. Also the grass smells amazing when you get on the pitch.

Re: The blue rope
Once is probably enough for the season. The trophy lift was sh*t show last time. I had to watch on TV later cos I didn't see a thing. However getting onto the pitch after the play-off semi against Peterborough was one of the most enjoyable moments of my Os supporting life. Kind of perfect, and very un-Orient that they managed to win the title with a game to go so we could all have a little run around and then do things properly against Stockport - at least that's the plan....

Re: The blue rope
I do wonder if that gets us into trouble with the FA/ EFL though. There definitely seems to be a rhetoric on cracking down on celebratory post game pitch invasions, I think the actions yesterday from the club (stewards encouraging people onto the pitch/ clear fan engagement on the pitch etc) might see a fine imposed.leebmx wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 1:07 pm The Steward on the East Side was kindly lifting the rope and urging the crowd to come forward and 'do the limbo' to get on the pitch. Re: The blue rope
Everything was pretty civilised yesterday. Much less chaotic than the Conference one which was a shambles.
People returned to their seats in a reasonable time and it was nice seeing the players do a lap of honour with their families.
Pitch invasions are wonderful things when they are done in the correct spirit - which yesterday was.
Trophy presentation on Saturday after the Stockport game will be nice but don’t think there’s any need for a pitch invasion. Let the players enjoy their moment.
Worth a shoutout to the stewards/security yesterday. They managed the whole thing very well. Weren’t silly about letting people on the pitch, managed to successfully keep people out of the dugouts/tunnel to let the players celebrate, and prevented any idiots swinging on the crossbar or anything. Nice to see a bit of common sense prevailing.
Would be quite funny if the authorities try to implement bans for everyone who went on the pitch yesterday. Wouldn’t have trouble getting tickets next season if the did.

Re: The blue rope
One of the stewards in the North was also kindly offering people a hand over the digital hoardings and holding the rope up for them.
It was good to see everyone clear the pitch as requested without too much of a delay, allowing the players their deserved lap of honour. I'd like to think that we will be as decent again this weekend for the trophy presentation. (Although I'd still say the best bet is to do it on the balcony).
The only slight downside to Saturday was whilst on the pitch, I happened to look up to the balcony and saw the Grinning Gink up there pretending to be an Orient fan once again. ****.

I thought the police played their part well too. Probably went to a post match briefing and said soemthing along the lines of "why were we even there"?The Reverend wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 1:53 pm Everything was pretty civilised yesterday. Re: The blue rope
I still say let everyone on the pitch and present the trophy up on the balcony. Then clear the pitch and allow the trophy to be paraded around the ground. The Reverend wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 1:53 pm

If the police or stewards could stop George stripping down to his bra and panties, that would be great too.
