Re: Drinan contract extension
Excellent news and always gives us 100%. IMO he's easily got the potential to better his goal tally from last season .

Re: Drinan contract extension
There’s no pleasing some people. That’s 12 months more than he did have at the start of the day. Only championship or premier players get more than 2 year contracts. If he plays like he did last season then we will probably sell him before his contract runs out anyway

If that's true how comes Moncur has got himself a three year contract in League 2 ?moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 4:26 pm There’s no pleasing some people. Re: Drinan contract extension
I know I’m in the minority here but people have short memories. Because RW loves him he’s ‘in’ now but during most of the season he couldn’t finish his dinner. Don’t get me long, love his work rate and this is good news but if we were to go up this season it would be a contract we could do without in league one.

Re: Drinan contract extension
He's the perfect Wellens striker and can cover anywhere across the front three. He's only 24 so still plenty of time to work on his finishing as well. Good news all around and hopefully says things behind the scene are actually alright.

Re: Drinan contract extension
Sorry, but the excitement here is ridiculous.
Drinan isnt that good is he?
If I had a tenner for every reasonably easy chance he should have put away, but didnt, Id be a wealthy man. He isnt a good finisher.
His only attribute is he works hard and runs a lot
Is that enough to warrant this extraordinary love?

Although he got his fair share of goals last season I think he'll improve in front of goal under Richie Wellens .Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sun Jul 24, 2022 6:09 pm I know I’m in the minority here but people have short memories. Great work ethic, strong, fast, decent in the air, great crosser when playing wide, always stretches defenders.
But yea, his finishing let’s him down, same as Macca. If he could finish, he wouldn’t be playing L2.

Re: Drinan contract extension
His workrate and pace is perfect for a Wellens side. Richie rates him as one of his top players in the squad so good to have him extended. Also hoping this new striker can take a bit of the pressure off him too when he does need a breather.

I think the point behind this contract though is that if he continues to mature we can get a few £££ for him.

Re: Drinan contract extension
I’d be happy for him to see out the next 2 years, whatever division we’re in.
It’s weird anyone is finding a negative in this.
