Macklin or Devlin
Have to admit to being totally underwhelmed so far by Mark Devlin. He came to the club with a big reputation but appears to have had little noticable impact and to me the club and the ground seem a mess. Ticketing should have been his first priority but as yet hundreds of season card holders without cards - just a week before our first home game. Using the ticketing page on the website seems to be a lottery, working for some and not for others.
Only watched the poor quality streams so far but the ground just looks shabby with only a few advertising boards in certain areas and bare wall in others. Add this his lack of interaction with the fans - I get he won't do twitter, but why not a few updates on the website. It's not a very promising start.
Also whats happened to the ground naming rights - It's a major revenue stream for the club and yet there is nothing yet in place,
Complete opposite to Danny Macklin who kept fans informed which in turn generates interest in the club and he gave the impression of being completely on the ball. I know Danny wasn't everyones cup of tea but for me he is head and shoulders above Devlin.

Re: Macklin or Devlin
Perhaps he's just busy behind the scenes, but it hasnt been a good pre season.
The cock-ups might not be down to him, they might have been things already arranged before he arrived. Then again, it might be all his fault.

Re: Macklin or Devlin
I'm not fussed about him not being accessible, there's no need - Macklin often made it all about him unnecessarily.
But yeah, some of the decisions - the half price first game tickets, the scrapping of the U11 STs - have all been somewhat strange. And the f*** ups - the STs, the ticket system, the shirts - maybe his fault but may be things he's inherited.
Judgement is most definitely still out but I'm not going to write him off just yet.

Re: Macklin or Devlin
Some positives:
New dug outs
East Stand painted
New Electronic advertising boards will be in place next Saturday
New ticketing- last system was a shambles . Give this time
I suspect the shirt sponsorship was signed late in the day causing delays to get the sponsors on the shirts. The shirts are produced in China & as we know there are delays in the chain nowadays.
Did you see the You tube video with Devlin? I suggest watch it. There will e a few this season.
DM was on social mdia a lot as he had to constantly deal with ticketing problems hence the new system which of course will have teething problems

Incase you haven't heard the season starts next Saturday .Long slender neck wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 11:06 am Perhaps he's just busy behind the scenes, but it hasnt been a good pre season.

Re: Macklin or Devlin
As communicated on the web site they are being posted in batches this week. Still a week to go. It seems as if full paying tickets are getting a gift card of £25 in club shop. How about some credit?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 3:44 pmWhatever , I have to say I haven't been impressed with him at all .My advice to him I would be pull your bloody finger out . Re: Macklin or Devlin
Tbh Macklin would sell his soul for a few quid. I’m glad we haven’t jumped into a load of sponsorships with dodgy companies who throw money at us. I really hope that one of his KPIs is to actually live up to our values and being a ‘community club’.
My hope is that the reason that other stuff has stopped is he’s doing a massive review of our structure and who’s responsible for what.

Re: Macklin or Devlin
Yes some fans have reported getting a £25 club shop voucher with their ticket………not sure if this is for an adult or concession ticket…………whatever, all fans should get a voucher really maybe for different values.

Re: Macklin or Devlin
On the Youtube video Devlin said that they had turned down a couple of deals for the ground sponsorship. Sounded as if they were sponsors we did not want to be associated with. Macklin sould some of our sponsorships too cheapApple Wumble wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 5:20 pm Tbh Macklin would sell his soul for a few quid. Re: Macklin or Devlin
So disabled supporters who get a concession won't get a voucher . That's good isn't it . Is this Devlin's birdbrained idea ?BIGRON wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 5:38 pmNot received my season card yet , 4 supporters I know of who are all concessions have had their cards but did not get vouchers , looks like the 25 notes voucher is for full paying supporters only![]()

Re: Macklin or Devlin
They are already getting more than 25 quid tbf. I think they should pay super fans and ‘the usual suspects’ an extra £100 personally

Re: Macklin or Devlin
If it means we get players in the building sponsor everything. Sadly for Macklin for all the money he brought it much of it was wasted on paying off Embleton, Senda, Fletcher etc etcApple Wumble wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 5:20 pm Tbh Macklin would sell his soul for a few quid. Forget the community club nonsense, focus on getting to L1. You don't win trophies for being the nicest club in London.
Reviewing the structure and expenditure... absolutely

Re: Macklin or Devlin
Far too early to knock Devlin yet. Macklin was well and truly a busted flush by the end, and being so active on social media didn't help him.

Hi Danny here - hope all Orient fans are well.
Not sure why I was a busted flush in view of the fan above but I can assure you Mark us first class and one of best CEOs I know in the game. He has done so much in a few months and is leading the way in that change.
Wishing the O’s good luck this season - look forward to coming to some games. Ta Danny
