Apart from Partridge which was mildly amusing I’ve never seen anything with him in that was any good. Some of the films he has made have been appalling .Long slender neck wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 4:46 pm The Witchfinder- 17th century partridge from the writers of partridge.

Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
Went to watch a filming of Would I Lie To You last night. It went on for three and a half hours! When you watch the half hour show on the telly, they really have edited out a load of sh*te to make it funny.
I have a newfound admiration for the talents of Lee Mack and David Mitchel, who do a great job of getting the most out of some pretty dull guests. We had Alice Roberts and two other people who I cannot even remember. Nothing against them, but retelling anecdotes in an effective comedic fashion is definitely not their forte. Mack and Mitchel both had to put in a serious shift.
However, we did have a real treat in that the fourth guest panellist was Bob Mortimer. He is brilliant and the edited highlights you may have seen of him on earlier editions don’t even come close to what you get in the studio.

Super jealous. Did you know Bob Mortimer was going to be on or was that just luck of the draw?

I think I'd have struggled with the whole thing otherwise. When you watch it on the telly, each panellists anecdote and questioning seems to take a couple of minutes. But live it can go on for anything up to 30 minutes. So if they're not genuinely gifted at story telling or being funny it can really drag and become uncomfortable.

Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
Mortimer is a classic introvert in person. In a bit of a Lame To Fame I knew him as a friend of a friend in Tun Wells, and even had a few ales sessions with him in a group. You'd never guess he could morph into his very funny performing persona, and anybody who approached him as a celeb or tried to engage with him about his work got the cold shoulder. I just stuck to football chat and similar nonsense, and he was fine then.

Mortimer is probably the funniest person on tv. Looking forward to his book when the missus is done.
The second funniest is Tim Key and I very much enjoyed the witchfinder

Came to it very late (like 3 months ago) but new Art Club is on tonight. I find it very emotional and uplifting at the same time

Was forced to watch Our House 4 part drama that's on ITV. Typical frothy garbage from them. I just can't take somebody called Tuppence Middleton seriously as an actor, even if she's very easy on the eye. At least it was streaming on Britbox too, so the dreaded ads were avoided.

I have never seen this Tuppence before - although a google shows she's a bonnie lassie.slacker wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 12:10 pm Was forced to watch Our House 4 part drama that's on ITV. My big issue with her name is that when I was a toddler, tuppence was code for having a sh*t - spending a penny being number one, and tuppence being number 2s, so for that reason, I'm out.

IIRC, tuppence has also been used as a polite euphemism for a lady's private parts.StillSpike wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 1:01 pmI have never seen this Tuppence before - although a google shows she's a bonnie lassie.slacker wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 12:10 pm Was forced to watch Our House 4 part drama that's on ITV. To be fair there’s about a 50:50 chance of him being there.StillSpike wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 10:58 am Super jealous. Did you know Bob Mortimer was going to be on or was that just luck of the draw?

Feathered friends in the garden, Foxes, squirrels and my dog. Like a picture on the front page of a Watchtower Jehovah’s Witness magazine.

Am Watching Funeral for a Dog at the moment. Not sure how I feel about it, really. It's OK.

For those of you who like movies I strongly recommend you to see this film. British cinema at it's very best.
If it is anywhere near as good as ‘Dead Mans Shoes’ will be brilliant. Great underrated actor him.

Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
Just watched final episode of Ozark, Season 4 Part 1.
I can't quite work out if I really like Ozark or if it irritates me. There's some great performances, but the plot and script writing at times seem to stretch too far and Marty's quirks and mannerisms are starting to annoy.
Still, it's more than watchable and keeps you hooked. The final episode ended on a tense note. I think it's fair to say that Ruth's fummin'. Part 2 will be along in a month, so the end is definitely nigh.

This is my least favourite Peaky Blinders series, but I'm sticking with it for the sake of completeness, I suppose.
Looking forward to the second part of Ozark S4 - but, like Christmas, it'll be over before we know it.
