Re: Highlights v Oldham
Cracking flying header from Ray for the goal though. Such a shame it was at the wrong end.

Notable that the only player breaking their neck to defend the last minute second goal was Smyth. Proper commitment.

Re: Highlights v Oldham
That's what happens when an attack minded midfield player gets signed as a RB

The best word I can find is ineffective.
Their keeper gets a touch to Ruel's chance. A good save.

What the F*ck is Ray trying to do there?
Another player, along with Nouble, who I hope to never see In an Orient shirt again. He has been dog sh*t ever since he arrived. Our defence is noticeably weaker when he plays instead of Ogie

Don't get me wrong, I don't want him in our squad and can't believe he's the best Lingy could find.Chocolate_brownie wrote: ↑Wed Mar 30, 2022 8:52 am What the F*ck is Ray trying to do there?

BUT as a defender, he's okish for this level. He should be behind all of Beckles, Ogie, Thompson and the injured duo in the pecking order, but he's ok defensively.
His problem is he's too cumbersome when we have the ball. The game has moved on, centre halves need to be able to play football nowadays.

Re: Highlights v Oldham
Now one can see why JE never sent the goalkeeper up for corners and resisted attempts by the players on the field to do so. I don't like it, though it does come off on occasions - Carlisle for instance with Jimmy Glass in 1999.

Would have stopped the ball on the line
Like Martin Ling did at Wembley in 1999 .

Re: Highlights v Oldham
If you've got a 6 foot 5 beast like Schmeichel in goal, sure, go for it, but Vigs is no taller than and definitely no better in the air than any of Smith, Drinnan, Beckles, Ray, Hector, Pratley. A pointless gamble.

Re: Highlights v Oldham
Why pointless? It was 95th minute, basically last kick. Worth a try to rescue a point but tbh we didn't deserve oneGary the Plumber wrote: ↑Wed Mar 30, 2022 12:26 pmIf you've got a 6 foot 5 beast like Schmeichel in goal, sure, go for it, but Vigs is no taller than and definitely no better in the air than any of Smith, Drinnan, Beckles, Ray, Hector, Pratley. Re: Highlights v Oldham
We were pointless before the corner was taken and our goal difference is worth an extra point whether we lose 1-0 or 2-0. We failed, but I am ok with the gamble.Gary the Plumber wrote: ↑Wed Mar 30, 2022 12:26 pmIf you've got a 6 foot 5 beast like Schmeichel in goal, sure, go for it, but Vigs is no taller than and definitely no better in the air than any of Smith, Drinnan, Beckles, Ray, Hector, Pratley. Re: Highlights v Oldham
I'm saying there was no way Vigaro was going to win it in the air. It was a gamble with no potential of paying off, so pointless.
