I'm more concerned that he was damaging the club when tapping up our players. You don't get to come back after that. Is the tapping up bit actually true?

Re: Who made the decision to appoint Paul Terry?
It’s one of those things that’s a bit depressing that it’s happened, but not much we can do about it except say that it’s . It’s not about Terry, it’s about the club seemingly not recognising that a move like this is gonna piss people off.

Re: Who made the decision to appoint Paul Terry?
Given the desperate situation the board were in and length of time it got RW to sign it wouldn't be surprising that letting him pick his no. 2 was part of the deal.

Have they got that much history together? Would RW have been so insistent on PT being his number 2 that he'd have turned down the job without him?
I reckon it was more a case of RW suggesting it and Lingy simply going along with it. It's another ex Ling player so suited him. He and the board just didn't see the backlash from the fans.

Plus Justin Edinburgh didn't come out well from the boys suicide. I'm sure he looked back on that and regretted some of his actions.

Re: Who made the decision to appoint Paul Terry?
Of course, we all can not easily prevent ourselves from judging others. There was something hard to like about the way that P T played his football when he made appearances with us. Cynical to the point of being nasty at times; well that was the impression I gained. He does not seem to have been much punished for his "crimes", either. He has bad odour.
Then again, it is so easy to be holier than thou. If he can somehow show some contrition and humility of the kind that Ricky Otto was perfect at, well and good. Just wish he could start the process at some other club.

John Mackie was accused of racism at Reading.
It's well documented that Mackie racially abused a fellow professional footballer, he has talked openly and honestly about it.

Hehe - but GaryDog - that's all you've been doing for the last day or so. I can't stand John Terry, couldn't recall the Paul Terry incident but you're on a one man mission to sh-it stir this for all it's worth. Re: Who made the decision to appoint Paul Terry?
This has been reported to me. Please do not make allegations of this nature unless you can prove all of the above have had their collars felt. Allegations against Hotdogs are fine though.
Appreciate this is an emotive subject but quite a lot of you on both sides of this debate need to calm the f*** down and get a grip of yourselves. Otherwise I have to start moddin' and I can't really be arsed to referee boarders behaving like wankpuffins.
