We are looking to record some views on this for broadcast in April (would be sooner but I am away for the next couple of shows) One of our colleagues at Phoenix 98fm is openly gay and is a member of a similar group at WHU. I was planning on asking her to take part and if any of you would like to contribute then please either let me know on here or via a DM. I envisage that we shall record some phone calls to play out as well as a live guest or 2.

Really? Your constant latching onto and subsequent virtual harassment of myself after every post I put up, borders on the perverse imo. You and your little clique of far left 'mates' think you are being clever with the snide remarks and your digs. Worst of all is of course none of you are brave enough to say anything using your real name. It was so refreshing to see Keith actually name himself in his post. He and I have not always seen eye to eye, but having met him and talked to him I have respect for his opinions which he puts over in an eloquent way.
We will run a programme or at least part of the programme on the subject of this new supporters group, it's something I've backed 100% from the start as anything that potentially brings in more support can only be a good thing. It's a subject worth discussing and if you'd like to make a sensible contribution then you're most welcome, but please change the record, it's boring and unecessary for you to be persistently impolite.
Why not realise that whilst we all hold varying political views there are some subjects where we can probably agree. Hopefully this new club is one of those.

I was planning on getting some of the people for whom the new group is something they'd use to come on and basically say why it's a necessary thing. Just an adult grown up chat.
Point taken LSN. It's a multi faceted benefit, an environment where people may feel more welcome/comfortable /safer whilst of course the business bottom line is to increase spectator numbers which this may help to do.

Type High is obviously a massive c***, but he’s not why this thing is needed: the reason such things are needed, if/when they are, is because of systemic homophobia, not the rantings of individuals. And that’s why officially sanctioned/supported groups like this need to be scrutinised for who they help - are they set up to meaningfully address issues/barriers to gay fans engaging with the team? Or are they to keep up the right appearances?

What’s needed is for the club - and groups surrounding the club - to do all they can to make there be as few reasons as possible that a group like this is needed (while respecting and supporting that such groups can be meaningful and useful in their own right too)
