Re: Russia / Ukraine Watch
Becoming clear Ukraine should never have given up it's nukes. Once Russia turned its back on that agreement, the involvement of the UK or America as a guarantor was never gonna happen.

Re: Russia / Ukraine Watch
I reckon we'll see other bordering states now trying to obtain nukes. Especially Poland.
Anyway, this just in. Lukashenko, addressing his security council, with a map of Ukraine showing possible troop movements, infrastructure targets, and the country divided into four parts. Moldova should be worried.

But Moldova isn't trying to join NATO. What are Russia's Legitimate Security Concerns© there?
Belarus getting nukes is so f*cking bonkers and scary.

Perhaps they should sell "I love Croatia" mugs for Diane Abbott - on Politics Live this lunchtime she thought Putin's tanks were rolling into Croatia and had to be corrected by the presenter.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 3:37 pm UK politics live: Boris Johnson says imposing no-fly zone over Ukraine ‘not on the agenda of any Nato country’

Re: Russia / Ukraine Watch
Ah yes the former Shadow Home Secretary who said that the claims "Russia are the aggressor should be treated sceptically" and blamed NATO for the "destabilisation in the entire region"

How much longer can the West, stand by and watch Russia purpertrate these horrors in Ukraine?
If the Russians encircle Kyiv and starve the people into submission, will the West still just stand by and let this happen?

What would you have us do , start WW3 . However if one Belorussian or Russian boot steps into NATO territory then we’re in it.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 11:14 pm How much longer can the West, stand by and watch Russia purpertrate these horrors in Ukraine?

Re: Russia / Ukraine Watch
Nothing more we can do unless NATO is attacked. By the way, WTF is the UN. Oh yeah, I read that one expert reckons there is a 20% chance Putin could launch a tactical nuclear weapon to explode in the sea between Britain and Denmark . I’m not able to do a link using my phone but you can see the article on the daily express website. If that happens it would be the biggest miscalculation in human history because we would have to respond likewise

Re: Russia / Ukraine Watch
Sounds like the Russian sieges are starting to work, they've taken their first major city.
What's the plan after they've inevitably taken Kyiv, Lviv etc? They are going to be trying to manage one of the best armed, highly motivated insurgencies in history. Read this morning that there are tens of thousands of Ukrainian men actually returning to the country to join the fight.
The best case scenario for Russia is what, a Ukraine paralysed by a nationwide never ending civil war between some useless puppet regime and a western backed rebellion, draining whatever pennies Russia has left due to being absolutely whacked by sanctions. Maybe the non-west eases up on them a bit after a while in that scenario, but they are going to be pariahs in Europe as long as they are in Ukraine.
Presumably Putin thinks he can replicate the Chechen playbook and be so absolutely brutal that it stubs out any resistance?
