Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
"We look like an under 23s group at times and that won't win games in League 2"
Well you signed 3 more of them during the window... or did you?
That's at least the third interview he's said the same thing about being too young and not enough experience. Who's he making that point to, us fans or the board?

Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
Why bring in KJ with all his experience and then dictate who he signs?
There maybe an agenda as to what the board want “build for the future” or “keep the wages lowish” but who comes through the door must be down to KJ

Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
He is always Honest
Which is what I like about him .
People can challenge performance tactics etc
But you can't say he doesn't say how it is .
If the board spend more we get more .
We can't spend Big in 1 year so it has to be done
With PATIENCE .
As for sacking him
How many managers/coaches would it be since Hearn left , 20 ?
Stick with him
It WILL come right for us but be PATIENT .

Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
Kenny is an experienced manager. If any of our January signings were against his wishes he shouldn’t have accepted it. People are now beginning to think he’s passed his sell by date

Will he appear at the next game with a yellow label on him?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 12:01 am Kenny is an experienced manager. If any of our January signings were against his wishes he shouldn’t have accepted it. People are now beginning to think he’s passed his sell by date

Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
I was referring to the yellow reduced price labels put on food items in the day of their best before date. What were you thinking it was?

Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
I started to think of something yellow
People were made to wear once ,
Never having worked in food retail
My retail experience always had a Red & white label for clearance .
Glad I realised it was you & knew there would be a more than acceptable explanation .

Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
The issue here is that we have seven first teamers injured. It’s fine to say get more in but you still have to pay wages for the injured. This isn’t Football Manager or FIFA.
You then of course have an issue when people are back that we have a bloated squad and therefore have no movement. It’s a difficult situation right now and I think we all just need to calm down a little.
At this time those available for loan or transfer are either not playing or will want a contract.
KJ is under the pump and I don’t think any other manager could do better under the circumstances.

Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
I’m just gonna say it KJ isn’t the problem
at the club if he was allowed to manage and
bring his own players in we’d be in a lot
healthy place ..
If KJ goes we’ll only in the same position pre
Fletcher or RE getting the job, whilst we
missed an opportunity getting Adams in, he
was allowed totally unfashionable Morecambe to
league one ..

Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
Who knew injuries happen in the winter months? Or that, with a pandemic going on, we might get illnesses? The fact is, the first 11 were alright and could have possibly got us into the playoffs, but the squad was paper thin from day one. This was always going to happen, wasn't it?
Excuses about the squad sort of fall on deaf ears when we have players like Wood, brought in to be first choice, who's nowhere to be seen. Wouldn't be surprised if we dont see Smith for a while either...

Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
I think any professional football team with seven first teamers out is going to see a downturn in results. We’ve been really unlucky.
You’re right it’s not the only reason but personally I think it’s the main reason.

Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
If the budget is so tight and limited
why waste it on Frank from Colchester when
we have Ruel sitting in the bench all season ?..
Also when we once had a decent midfield of
Hales, Castle and Howard if any of these players
got injured or were out of form ( which never
happened with these 3), we’d always have a
Steve Baker or Kenny Achmapong to jump in
there place ...... it was called competition for
places

Agree, noted that Dulcet Dave said on the commentary he'd never known a season like it for injuries/ long termers too, and it just got worse last night with Happe, and both young recent signings were missing too.

Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
Any Orient side in distant memory would have struggled with all of our injuries. Castle, Hales were decent of course and I agree our midfield needed strengthening but any side would be in trouble. Even a top Arsenal or United side of recent years would not cope well losing seven first teamers.
If we want players we either have to offer them a decent contract (like Khan I assume) or we go after a Nouble and say win yourself a contract you’re finished at Colchester. Or we gamble on some youngsters and hope they are good enough.
We have been unlucky.

Re: Jackettout's post Exeter interview
Not convinced Ruel is the answer. Not a target man, and doesn't hold the ball up. Feeds off scraps and we aren't making any.Hedmans Header wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 8:30 am If the budget is so tight and limited

Yep , more DEBT, more risk of following in footsteps of Bury, Macclesfield etc. Orient have been there recently and its not pleasant
