I think a little defensive deviation is taking place here. First. He is NOT a CM as a primary position despite the fact that on occasions he has played in that role and secondly he has NOT played in that position 30 times by being picked ahead of Gorman.
A look at CM pairing stats demonstrates this is just not possible as I have proven.
What has happened is a personal dislike for the player generating all sorts of nonsense, something all too frequent on this forum and goes way beyond a fair critique of players performances.
We are all disappointed at his performance last season, I dare say he is too, after expecting so much and we know he is unlikely to get the nod ahead of Clay and Wright. It is likely he will get a decent amount of pitch time unless the club recruit another CM, Gorman is likely to get the chance to demonstrate he is better than what we have seen. I hope he does for all our sakes.
With Lawless and Lee gone and only Wright incoming I hope another, strong, CM comes in. At that point Gorman may drop to fourth choice. But to put him fourth now, behind Jobi, is nonsense as Jobi is not a natural CM for us but emergency cover at best, he is far more effective out wide.
1. In which position does Jobi fit into the side in a 3-5-2 formation?
2. If your answer to 1) is not “in central midfield”, then how do you explain his playing the last 15 or so games in that position in that formation?
3. If he is not ahead of Gorman in that position, as you claim, then how come he was picked in that position instead of a fully-fit Gorman for the last 15 or so games of the season?
McAnuff played on the left when Gorman had his run in the side. When McAnuff played in the centre after we switched to 3-5-2, he was picked ahead of Gorman. Not rocket science.

You post utter rubbish.
‘Twas ever thus.
Hope the Angol transfer works out. He clearly needs to settle somewhere. He embodies the mediocrity we should be expecting this year. I can live with that.

Dis, please contact Mr Ling and see if you can be part of his scouting team. Then you will be able to give a much more balanced argument.
My argument is well balanced already, therefore contacting the illustrious Mr Ling would be wasting my time.
I can't believe that you haven't been picked up by a bigger club!
I am open to offers Banq and happy to provide advice on request.

He started 16 games (+13) and scored 9 goals for Mansfield in 2017.
He still only 24.
10 in 34
4 in 27 following that, clearly never much rated at Shrewsbury.
Maybe Conference/League two is his level. He gets very mixed fans reviews. Some seeing him as a great signing, others a decent 4th striker. Seems a bit Bonne like in as much as he chases around a lot so perhaps that’s the attraction. Hard working like Bonne but without the goals.
Perhaps he is seen as a good backup striker, depending on who else come in, we are expecting two.
But with two strikers coming in I assumed one would be a decent striker with another playing second fiddle. I hope if he comes he is the latter. With money in the bank I hoped we could attract someone better.

Undisclosed. Something under 50k.
That's the kind of level I'd hoped, certainly not worth paying big money for an out-of-favour player at this time of year.
JE was able to get another 25% out of average players and make them winners. With the interim setup we have now I just expect average players to be average and nothing more. Survival will do this season after what happened to JE but just don't want it to be a bumpy ride. Mid table obscurity please.

I don’t know the player so like I said earlier in this thread I’ve no opinion on him.
However, Dis the geezer has not even walked through the door and your slating him, at least give him a chance before you slaughter him.
That’s a bit harsh Thora. I will want him to succeed if he does come here, but I have to say now, I am not sure he is the best option.

Our scouts better know something. We have bought three players so far and all three of their clubs supporters were happy to get rid. Compare and contrast with us losing Bonne and Koroma and we are all gutted.

I think we're really going to struggle for goals this season.

Not true at all for Wilkinson.
Blows that idiotic comment out of the water methinks.

You post nonsense on a daily basis.
You argued Beelzebub's corner like a little pathetic snake for 3 years, then you threw a hissy when we lost a couple of games last season and declared we would not be promoted, now you're trying to claim that McAnuff isn't a central midfield option and that Dale Gorman is somehow ahead of him in the pecking order against all the available evidence.
It's nothing personal and I don't want you to take this as anything other than this, but you post utter rubbish all the time. It's like a relentless stream of rubbish.
Hi dohNut. On the 17th June you stated that we would have a forward line of Alabi and Harold to look forward to next season and relegation awaits. I offered you a £300 wager that this would not be the case come first game of season. Never did get reply...offer still there. Try relaxing take a breath and think positive. Life could be much worse as we all know. Expect i know what your reply would probably be but really thats predictable. Good luck.
Just wondering Disoriented how many times have you seen Lee Angol play? You say its a poor signing so maybe you could tell us all what type of player he is. Strengths and weakenesses. Really interested to know.

As Banquo alluded to earlier, it would be disingenuous of me to provide scouting reports for gratis.
