I don't think posting on the Orient message board adds to a wider sense of hostility towards asylum seekers reallyStillSpike wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 4:15 pmPrestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 4:08 pmStillSpike wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 3:42 pm So getting put up in a shitey B&B and £40 a week is the "land of milk and honey"??"initially"Asylum seekers get no choice in where they live. Most are initially placed in hostel-type accommodation before longer-term housing is arranged.
£40 per week, per person, more if you're a child or pregnant, doesnt sound great to you or me, but with no housing costs its probably a sweet deal for your average asylum seeker. I wouldnt be shocked if many actually find work on the black market too.
I know you're just doing your schtick, and it's all simply hilarious, but you're also adding to the general hostility towards these people (and they are people, BTW). Think on, eh?

And you're aware that those people are asylum seekers how? Is there some visual clue you're picking up on that enables you to deduce that they are asylum seekers?

Seen them outside many DIY major merchants in the mornings. They get picked up by builders for labouring for cash. No idea if they are illegal or not.

No Tuffers. Unlike you I have always worked for a living . And having always been in the building industry I know plenty about the cash workers , particularly the ones that wait outside builders merchants for casual work. You need to learn when to give up on an argument

My mates son whilst looking for a job, got taken on by an agency. They had to wait outside B&Q at 5 in the morning and were whisked off to Unilever to pack boxes of baked beans and the like. Several times he was told " we don't need you, see ya! " At the time Poles were preferred as they were deemed to work harder. Bit like the old days at London Docks.

An agency sent him to wait outside B&Q where he was picked up to work in a baked bean factory?

i dont really care if you have seen people waiting outside of builders merchants .
all it does is allow your bullsh*t argument of blah blah blah
with no PROOF . PROVE that those waiting outside were on
boats in the Channel .

Re: Migrants crossing the channel
Take a little time to read my post. No mention of boats or the channel. Didn’t even say that they were migrants. In fact I said I had no idea if illegal or not.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 7:06 pmwhat makes you think i Havent worked all my life ?George wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 6:08 pmNo Tuffers. Re: Migrants crossing the channel
Look forward to coming back to this thread in 20 years time and seeing the right wing bigots referring to these refugees as Brits.
