Resolving a Sporting Conundrum

Post by Max B Gold »

Does a fat blokes ability to put three arrows in the triple twenty bed, on a more or less consistent basis, make darts a sport?

Help required to resolve this thorny issue please. Some mouthy old loadsamoney geezer in an arse licking article in the Guardian yesterday said it does.

Can we stick to darts please. Answering a question with a question is a laudable tribute to the Socratic method but this riddle needs to be unravelled first.

It’s a game. In my opinion a sport should be something that requires the people taking part to be fit

As 1 uses a limited amount of muscles
Admittedly
For standing up & using ones arm to propel
An object , in theory could define it as a Sport .

However standing up & propeling something
Towards ... lets say a Playboy centre fold while masturbating isnt .

Its a Tough one to call as 1 of the 2 activities definitely raises the Heart Rate .
Which is fundamental to Sport in my opinion !

Calling people ‘fat ‘ these days is not politically correct and is simply not nice . Some Paralympian Sports have people participating who can still be competitive but have health issues affecting their weight due to medications they depend on .

A sport requires changing in order to play at a high level. Darts, Snooker and Golf are just games and pastimes.

We're talking darts and fatties not porkers at the paralympics. Stay on topic and less of the wanking analogies.

The Council of Europe charter on sport uses the following definition: "Sport means all forms of physical activity, which through casual or organised participation, aim at expressing or improving physical fitness and mental well-being, forming social relationships or obtaining results in competition at all levels".

I believe in Europe therefore fat tw*ts chucking a mini spear whilst pissed does not constitute a sport. That is all.

You can do dressage in any old clothes - they only pick the top hat and stuff to be poncey
