Re: New Academy Manager
According to that link, Lee Johnson was previously Head of coaching at Barnet.
So if my memory serves me right, was not that the same position held by Danny Senda before he left Barnet to join the Os ?
In that case wonder if there was any chance that Danny could have been offered this same job rather than having to recruit a new person again ?
Football clubs seem to have a very rapid turn over of staff, be it players, managers or coaching staff etc. Matt Harrold seems to be the only member left of last seasons coaching staff !

Quote Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barnet_F.C.
''The 2020–21 season saw Barnet record their lowest league position for many years. They finished within the relegation zone of the National League, but were saved from dropping into the National League South due to the abandonment of the 2020–21 National League North and South mid-season (owing to the COVID-19 pandemic). The team's 2020–21 performance was greatly hampered by the club being badly affected by the pandemic during the first half of the season, and the closure of the club's EFL-funded football academy at the end of the previous season''

At first glance didn't seem that good an appointment, then at second glance having thought it through, confirmed my first thought, hardly inspiring must admit, another one of Lings appointments, be it players or managers, pick someone who doesn't seem to have achieved anything and hope they will surprise us all

The Academy is a waste of money anyway.
Anyone half decent will be snapped up for peanuts.
The players Ling mentioned can’t even hold down a first team place.

Re: New Academy Manager
I believe Kenny Jackett was targeted by Nigel, Kent, and possibly Matt Porter, who via other contacts had sounded out Kenny before handing idea to Martin and saying money's there go settle it. Ling isn't that lucky to get Justin and or Kenny on his own, Justin took it as he needed to get back on the band wagon and money wasn't Justin motivation. Kenny had done his homework way before Martin was in touch.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 5:50 pmYeah, this must have been down to Ling and Jackett must have been down to anyone else.Type high wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 4:40 pmAt first glance didn't seem that good an appointment, then at second glance having thought it through, confirmed my first thought, hardly inspiring must admit, another one of Lings appointments, be it players or managers, pick someone who doesn't seem to have achieved anything and hope they will surprise us all
