Theiving Bastards
Had the council decorators in yesterday to repair some flood damage in the bedroom and kitchen , 2 Romanian guys who worked had and did a good job , alas after they had left the wife found that her small ring box from the bedroom draw is missing , this box has been in the same draw for many years and the only time the wife goes to the box is when we maybe go out for a meal or a show and she swaps her rings over , in the box was her engagement ring , her eternity ring and a signet ring her parents bought her when she was a teenager , these rings ain't worth a fortune but are irreplaceable and shes had them years and is in tears over it , unfortunately we are not insured , we have reported it th the workers company and the council , we are are now going to the local nick to report it , I even gave the guys 20 quid each for doing a great job ☹☹☹

When did you last see the ring box? And how do you know it was definitely them?

Why did we need to know they were Rumanians.
Rumania, Rumania
Much less repressive than Albania.

Re: Theiving Bastards
Sorry to hear what happened and you’re rightfully angry but their nationality has nothing to do with it.

Obviously these men will deny your allegations, it'll be difficult to prove anything.

Hopefully the items can be found at their abode so you get them back and they can be linked to it

Re: Theiving Bastards
Very sorry to read this Ron.
It’s a difficult one really, as others have said their nationality isn’t anything to do with it, but the council would know if there had been previous incidents with these two workers, as I assume they would have done work in other tenants homes.
Be interesting to know IF there have been previous incidents with these two guys.
Insurance probably wouldn’t be much help as it’s the sentimental value of these items.
Think you’ve got all our sympathy as it could happen to any of us.

Their nationality is relevant if you live in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and have got work booked through the council and have valuables at home

How did you know it was missing if it only comes out for special occasions?
Either way, hope you get the items back

The point was their nationality is of very little relevance to anyone but a small cluster of people who might be at risk

I would suggest setting up a sting operation involving hidden cameras and a dog that bites thieves really hard.

Re: Theiving Bastards
I know. Can we proceed to agree on the breed of dog that is going to bite them up now. I suggest an Alsation as they go a bit radio rental once the get a taste. A Staffy or Bulldog would be ok but they tend to lock on and are hard to dislodge.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 2:02 pmI never suggested otherwiseMax B Gold wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 1:59 pmOk got you now. Sorry to hear about your wife’s ring being taken like this, Ron. Hope she recovers it undamaged.
