Depends which Germany (and England) turns up. They can be got at, and don’t look like scoring many against a robust defence, but if England put in one of their duller, safety-first performances they will get beaten. Panglossian Prediction: 3-1 to St George’s heroes. Eeyore prediction: A boring 1-1 and the Germans win on penalties…again.

Even more
I think players actually like him .
Not in a venables way
More a , He's just such a nice bloke sort of way
I think they are bought in too, which is also an under appreciated point. The amount of times we’ve had a good manager on paper who hasn’t got buy in meaning we don’t do well I.e sven, capello.
Heute Abend könnte Herr Southgate Gegenstand einer Entlassung sein.
:D agree

I know I’m setting myself up for a big old fall/fool as dunners has alluded to but I think we will surprise people

I predict that whoever wins tonight we will all be thinking "why can't England play exciting football like we saw last night".

Like when Scotland, Wales or the Ireland’s play England.

No, not at all like that.

England fans partake in the home countries rivalry. German fans don’t give a monkeys about us, Holland is their game.

A Netherlander friend of over 40 years sent me this. I suspect the debate is now settled:

"Voor ons Nederlanders is het spelen van Duitsland in het voetbal de hoogste wedstrijd.De winnaar krijgt dan de titel van meest arrogante natie, na Engeland, in Europa"

Whatever the score, it'll probably be a dreadful game.

Don’t think Southgate has a clue what attacking means unless it’s in the context of once or twice in a blue moon.
So negative and boring tactically, I am amazed that people will pay hard earned money to pay to watch it.Personally I woudnt go and watch football under Southgate even if they gave me a free seat and a chauffeur driven car from my home and back and a free bar.

They definitely do. It’s true that the Netherlands are their main rivals - and lefties love repeating this - but there is definitely a rivalry there. It’s ok - you don’t have to feel guilty cos we beat them at a war 80 years ago

I was just reading that England fans are very upset with the team selection. Apparently it’s very timid and with our flare players left out
