League 2 (Final Position)

Post by Lucky7 »

I’m going for a 14th place
I think it’s going to be a learning curve season
Anything above I’ll be happy

Any advance on 14?

My guess is 7th-12th.

Position 9th.

But hope to be pleasantly surprised.

I’m gonna say 10th. I think we will have a very good season, however the final 9 games are going to be very tough and I believe they will ruin our chances of playoffs unfortunately

I know this is just a 'fun' thread, but its impossible to forecast with any real knowledge of what might happen. Under usual circumstances its hard to predict, but under the circumstances we find ourselves in, its impossible

1...We dont know how many of our 'best' players will be gone by kick off time on Aug 2nd

2 We dont know how many ( if any) will be coming in to replace those sold....and what quality they will be

3 We dont know how Justins passing will affect the players.......it may galvanise them, or it may have a negative effect.....who knows?

4 We have no idea how Ross will manage/cope. He is totally untried as a head coach/manager, and its impossible to know what will happen. He may be fantastic, or he may struggle, there's no way of knowing

I will be very content, to finish in mid-table. As long as we stay up will also be acceptable

Theres far too many unkowns now, to even hazard a guess where we'll be next May

A few weeks ago, would have said 4th. After everything that's happened, no longer that optimistic. 18th?

Anything could happen but will be more than happy if we can get a safe middle of the table position. With all that has happened in the last few weeks, I just do not have an idea as to how it will all pan out, but just hope for the best.

Anywhere from 22nd up will do. Play off would be good and promotion a bonus. Anything except relegation.

Predicting final position is something of a lottery at this time. A good season would be no threat of relegation and no stress for O's suppporters. If Koroma leaves i would like to see a proven experienced league striker with a proven goal scoring record brought in. This would probably be a large transfer fee but money should be there. Also a real experienced team leader who could help with some naivety and lack of experience in the team at this level. I know we have a few older heads but you can never have enough in Div2...tough league.

You mean like Jamie Cureton. Experienced, proven goalscorers do not always deliver at the Orient.

I am not adverse to a bit of stress like last season, in fact I would welcome it.

When Os got relegated in 2017, there was no stress, just a inevitable fall into the abyss. Don't even mind the threat of relegation as long as Orient are competing to the end. Last time it was a done deal by middle March with about 10 games left.

TBH, I think we're going to struggle this season with no permanent coach and our two top goal scorers leaving. I don't think we'll be relegated although I think we'll finish nearer the bottom than the top. After all we've been through any position above 20th and I'll be very happy. A season of consolidation and then push on next season.

TBH, that will do me fine. We simply can't afford to be relegated again.

I didn't think that we'd do as well as a lot of people were expecting, I was thinking 13-17th range. Despite everything that's happened, I still think we're probably going to be in that range. To be honest, I'm happy as long as we can avoid a relegation battle - this season should all be about assessing where we are and what we need to do in order to have a real go next season.

I agree. Survival is very important this year.

With Justin in charge I thought we would be mid-table. The side that starts the season doesn't look as if it'll be any stronger overall than the one that finished last season, and I think the step up will be a lot tougher.

Have a feeling we will be lower mid-table, but Ross won't be in charge by the end of the season and will be ordered to stand aside half-way. Emotions will be raw at the start of the season and will provide us with a promising start, but it will be reality that this isn't sustainable.

Would like to think Ross might have picked up a few things from Justin in 18 months but not sure it as easy as that. There must have been players or coaches hanging around Alex Ferguson for decades and yet they still turned out to be bad managers.
