Does Anyone On Here Play a Musical Instument?
Ill kick off. I play bass guitar to a decent standard. Ive always loved the deep tones of music so this was natural instrument for me.
These days i just play for my own entertainment. Play along to rock songs etc
Anyone else?

Used to be able to play several instruments to a semi-decent standard; guitar, piano, cello and violin (got to Grade 5). But for a number of reasons I've not played any for the best part of 20 years. Am almost scared to pick one up and discover how much I'll have deteriorated.

Used to be able to play several instruments like a pro; pink oboe, rusty trombone (got to Grade 5). But for a number of reasons I've not played any for the best part of 20 years. Am almost scared to pick one up and discover how much I'll have lost my puff.

My dad bought me a guitar for passing my 11 plus in 1959. Still sort of playing , veering on the folk music side. Taught myself to get something out of a piano, but now wish I'd taken up my parents' offer to have lessons. Learnt the recorder along with my kids and took trumpet lessons at secondary school.

Yep, guitar. Got a couple of electric, an acoustic and a classical. Fox valve amp that punches its weight and a Peavy practice amp with a few effects. Pedal and various other bits to play around with too. Played in a few different bands largely as rhythm but a bit of lead. Can play also a bit of piano and most 3 valve brass instruments. Have a lot of fun with the guitars but not blown a brass for a long time.

No but I wish I did. Spent too much time hanging around on street corners with dickhead mates to do anything constructive. I was quiet good on Guitar Hero though when the kids were younger

Re: Does Anyone On Here Play a Musical Instument?
I used to play drums in a band (about 40 years ago!)
Last Christmas - as part of my extended mid-life crisis - I was given an acoustic bass as I'd decided I wanted to learn that instrument. I've been doing online lessons and picking up songs on tab sites, and am quite enjoying myself dicking about with it. I may move on to an electric bass next year, but can't really justify spending too much just to willy about slightly louder. Mrs Spike also tutts about my stuff taking up lots of space (we live in quite a wee cottage and she's embracing minimalism) - so I need to step lightly.

What rubbish, how can you not play them now? Like riding a bicycle, you can always.Dunners wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 9:53 am Used to be able to play several instruments to a semi-decent standard; guitar, piano, cello and violin (got to Grade 5). I have an old violin in a case for free if anyone wants it, can drop it off or post it, no strings attached.

Re: Does Anyone On Here Play a Musical Instument?
An Alsatian bit two fingers off my right hand few years back. After the operation and dressings the doctor asked if I had any questions.
I asked if I could play piano once wounds healed and he said I could.
‘Great I said, I could not yesterday’

Think question was ‘Can you play an instrument?’ not ‘Do you own an instrument?’

Re: Does Anyone On Here Play a Musical Instument?
My dad had guitar on the chest'
My mum had drumming in her ears.
My sister had a singer sewing machine.
And I was always on the fiddle.
