Bizarre how people are trying to bring Ling into this?
Ling has been blamed for similar goals before.

The goal isn’t really anyone’s fault individually but goals like that happen when the team is being pushed back and letting the opposition play in and around the box.

But you know as well as anyone that if Ling was on the pitch and that goal happened the usual people would be pinning it on him

That's actually a really good comparison. Ball coming in from our left, centre forward peels off etc.

Have a look at how static Ling is throughout that goal. Then have a look at the drive and determination and effort and movement from Akinola. The contrast couldn't be clearer.

Tbh I think that’s nonsense.

Defenders and defences screw up. Whether park football or premier league. It irritates when it’s one of your own but deep down we are football fans. It happens. We know.

The contrast between Ling and Akinola is not their skill level, experience, quality. For me it’s involvement. Taking responsibility, having a go, working hard. Maybe Akinola could have done better with Walsalls second, maybe not. But to my mind his involvement, effort, responsibility taking was far superior to what Ling demonstrates every game. That’s my issue with Ling, not his ability.
