I want to go, but would it really generate that much income for us?

Let the clubs/fans decide.
It’s in the open air ffs. Higher density of people in the pubs/trains/buses. I feel like going on a Trafalgar Square Demo with all the loonies.

Assuming limited numbers, people allowed in will be ST holders who have already paid. So I’m not too sure how this will increase club revenue.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 8:28 pm I want to go, but would it really generate that much income for us?

I totally agree. These restrictions are doing more damage to everything than the virus. Somebody has to draw a line in the sand and now say enough is enough. If most of us don’t go back to normal soon then there won’t be much left of the country worth savingOrient Punxx wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:22 pm Let the clubs/fans decide.

Doing my head in now - from the absolute shambles of allowing Cheltenham in March when we knew what was coming with little understanding of its effects, to now and the total overreaction and inconsistencies of what is being instructed.
I get the economics re Orient and would accept it if the club did not wish to open its doors to only a 1000 fans but overall we should be opening up out of door events to those who may wish to attend.
2000 people in an open air stadium/racecourse or 30 people in my local. The former please.
There’s only so much fuckin Netflix you can watch!

The kind of selfish attitude that is prolonging this dire ordeal.

Don’t need science to work out that infection rates are higher indoors than out and in high density areas than not.

And its not prolonged because there is NO END to this. The genie is out of the bottle and will not be going back in, no matter how many lockdowns we have.

Re: f*** the Govt Time to Let Some Fans In
There are a number of problems, that no ones mentioned as yet.
First of all, you have to have social distancing at 2 metres between every person AT ALL TIMES. When people arrive, they will not arrive at spaced out intervals, but in packs....how do you sort that problem?
Next, how do you manage toilet facilities?......Its a nightmare to organize that. Would you need bouncer type guys, only allowing one at a time.........fans would miss most of the second half. If it wasnt controlled, people would just go in as they wanted.
Then, when the game was finished, how do you control the fans going out, while social distancing? Its an impossible job.
Theres also the problem of fans all going to the tube station, en masse, which again makes social distancing impossible on the platform.
IMO there isnt a cat in hells chance football will be played in front of fans, anytime soon

There may be some additional revenue via food and drink sales but that mainly goes to the vendors anyway, doesn't it. And that's assuming everyone is allowed to wander around buying beer and burgers.
Letting us back in now won't impact our income. It'll just let a couple of thousand fans get to watch the game live.

Re: f*** the Govt Time to Let Some Fans In
Spanish flu didn’t last that long before it died out. The flu of 57/58 was a bad one with over 2 million deaths, the flu of 68/69 killled over a million people. Whilst lots of people died in all three of the mentioned flu’s none of them actually lasted that long in reality. Will covid go the same way?

You cannot make bold statements contradicting scientific advice without qualifying your credentials, otherwise you are just another ‘barrack room lawyer’ spouting nonsense. Talk is cheap.

Re: f*** the Govt Time to Let Some Fans In
This governments policies on Covid are destroying the fabric of this country , not saving it. The so called scientific advice makes no sense. We are simply kicking the can down the road.
In March we were told that there was a danger that we would all become infected at the same time and over run the NHS. The lockdown at the time successfully prevented that happening. The lockdown was not in place to stop us all becoming infected. It was in place to slow the infection down.
What are the reasons for a lockdown now. So we close everything again. Then what ?
We open up again in the spring / summer and it starts all over again. And in the meantime we crash the economy irreversibly , plunge millions into unemployment and poverty, and destroy the prospects of the young.
More people will die as a direct result of these pointless policies than will die of Covid.
It is time to grow up , accept where we are , and get on with life as best we can.
