They tried to get him from MK Dons when went to Gillingham.

I’ve already discounted him and Ruel.

If either/both sign, I’ll be made up.

I think he'll end up here. He might as well. The offers he'll get won't be anything outrageous long term, which might be the case with Sotiriou.

Cheltenham often struggle to get attendances over 3,000 - even despite the fact that last season, they qualified for a play-off position.

It's a tad worrying that a player would anticipate career advancement in Gloucestershire, rather than at Leyton Orient Football Club.

Alarm bells should be ringing. Unfortunately, the silence is currently deafening.

Not particularly. He has only lived in this country for 3 years so I doubt he is overly rooted down, he is probably about to sign his last or second to last long contract. If we offer £1500 per week for 2 years and Cheltenham offer the same with a 2 bed house being £750quid there, then that is a huge disparity to what it would cost to live here. Might be able to save himself £20k in rent over the contract. It's worth thinking about when you're 29 and in a career that ends by 36.

That being said, I think he is on his way here.

You think he rents?

I agree with others - the fact he’s even looking at the likes of cheltenham tells you how much he wants to be here.

Cheltenham is a nice place to live though. Maybe he prefers a desirable location, much like Ebou did at Ebbsfleet.

Reportedly we are about to sign Anthony Wordsworth
ex-AFC Wimbledon who is a defensive midfielder. Of course it could just be another wild rumour from one of dubious transfer sites.

I thought that he was going to Bolton ??
Maybe he went to take a look at Bolton and thought who in their right mind would want to live here
I agree though, if we lose him to Cheltenham it will be very disappointing.

We have tried to sign him before. Always thought of him as an attacking midfielder with a goal in him.

It says they have made an offer, but for all we know he may not be interested. As a player he cant be blamed for weighing up his options, I hope he ends up here but Bolton are a big club and they'll be doing all they can to secure an instant return to League One, signing Doyle was a statement of intent and Ian Evatt has gone there as manager after getting Barrow promoted

The general feeling on here is Edou chose Ebbsfleet because of money and he lived nearby. I can’t see what Cheltenham can offer Cisse that we couldn’t

Apparently a Twitter user asked him outright on his Instagram and he said 'it will be a surprise' now the question was are you coming to Orient or going to Bolton...now he could have meant he isnt going to either, which would indeed be a surprise, but i'm taking the fact that he didnt say he WASNT coming to orient is a bonus

Ebou went to ebbsfleet for less money. He said so. It was the behind the scenes stuff that put him off coming here.

Never understood that comment when almost evry other player that signs says its a great dressing room to be in and a good club to be at. Still whatever the real reason it was a bad decison, missed out a champions medal and was left out of Ebbsfleet team on several occasions.

Injured players are often left out of a team.

He was benched when fit on more than one occasion, I suspect it was partly to ensure he didn't get a bonus set on his appearances per season, it was a bad move and showed lack of ambition.

Its interesting that Cisse is not mentioned on either of the Cheltenham or Bolton forums. You would have thought that they would have seen the speculation

No sports journo in Gloucestershire called Jon Paimer tweeted it. He should know he covers Cheltenham Town and tweeted it yesterday after Cheltenham virtual player of the year awards.

Yes he did, but the forums themselves are not commenting on it. We would have done if it was one of our journalists
