Re: Jack Simpson

Personally I think we want a better than a ten a penny northern hard man. Just my opinion, I think Happe is our best centre half who under normal circumstances would attract interest from bigger teams. Simpson is a lot more than a 10 penny hard man. He's the best CB we have on the ball. Happe shoul...

Re: Jack Simpson

For balance, it sits a bit awkwardly with me but I’m on the fence. I can see why we would sign him and why he deserves a second chance but I also don’t think a non-racist person says something like that to a colleague. The thing I find weird is the scuffle from some to brush off any valid concerns ...

Re: Jack Simpson

Genuinely interested - were people uncomfortable with Mackie signing? Pretty similar case of inexcusable racist abuse, but these days think it'd be agreed he's a club legend.

Re: VAR could be scrapped.

They will automate offside decisions next year. They already use it in the champions League and it seems to work well, so that in particular won't be an issue. Genie is out of the bottle now, there is no way they get rid of a system that largely has improved the number of correct big decisions being...

Re: VAR could be scrapped.

Problem is that it's created the expectation that we'd get somehow objective, automated decision making that eliminates human error. Which is impossible. So many of the rules in football are by nature subjective. And the biggest issue with var is that the definition of clear and obvious error is als...

but personally I think he would become a better keeper playing competitive League 1 football in front of thousands, rather than playing for Burnley B team in an empty stadium. Disagree. Training day in day out with Muric and Trafford in a Championship/Premiership environment and the odd closed door...

Re: Travis interview

There’s a bigger question around all of this as to what the fan base is willing to put up with in order to see us gain more success. Leaving our current ground with lots of history/memories Match day ticket prices in the £40-50 range, if not more. With season tickets approach the £1000 mark. A beer...

Re: Travis interview

Travis talks a lot of bollocks sometimes. Seems to be happening more often. If we're to keep progressing, then the next set of challenges for the Club are an order or magnitude greater than what's happened over the last 7 seasons, because they require the significant expansion of our fanbase, and a...

Re: Travis interview

There's a consistent theme across American investment in British sport where they think we massively underpay for the 'product' compared to what they can charge in the states and could be fleeced for much more. There's a reason so many dollars are pouring into English football at the moment, the exc...

Re: Richie interview

Promoted clubs in theory should all be a lot better than the teams we came up with. Why? 'THe division is going to be tougher next year' is pretty standard trope wheeled out every end of season. Wrexham and Stockport will have more money than any of the promoted teams last year. In Wrexham's case a...

Re: Richie interview

Considering everything Richie said and how tough League One is going to be next season our Summer transfer business has to be spot on . IMO, It's going to be one of our most important Summers for transfer business . Get it wrong and we could be facing a relegation battle next season so fingers cros...

Imagine if Mk Dons come up, they'll have more money than us as well.

Re: Josh Koroma

Club would have been mad to give a three year deal to Smyth. His fitness record was very poor when we signed him and he barely played in the first season. Shorter contracts are insurance for the club as much as for the player, as we'll see this summer with Moncur and Piggott, it's hard to get under ...

Is it that 'woke'? . Saw Tamsin Greg play malvolio in a 12th night and Glenda Jackson play King Lear, a trans woman playing a female role doesn't feel mad.

Guess there's a chance that if they are in the prem, he'll be let go on a free as the chances of him getting a look in there are even lower and the amount they could get from him would be chump change compared to what they'll earn. But I'd be very surprised if we weren't blown out the water financia...

Re: Released Players

I'm surprised to see Rob Hunt going . I thought he was a good player . Also I'm disappointed to see it looks like we're going to be stuck with Pigott for next season He is no where good enough if we want to challenge for promotion . He even had to be told by Ruel recently when to press during a gam...

Re: New Orient Manager?

It's really not an either or. If we had a 18k stadium with potential for expansion, based in the fastest growing part of the richest city in the most popular country for football, it's obviously a much more enticing proposition for potential investors. What Luton has achieved is bonkers and notewort...

Brentford and Bournemouth also massively subsidised by very rich owners to get there. It's certainly one way of doing things but not exactly replicable for us.

Re: Released Players

Hunt was capable back up for two positions so surprised he's been let go. Interesting to see what type of full back we target as a replacement. Pratley looks absolutely exhausted even when he comes off the bench so a little surprised to see him be offered a playing deal. But if he covers Harold's co...

He won't be replace by anyone as good. How much worse they are then him is my concern. Not sure how anyone can say that for certain nobody knows who a new manager would be if one is incoming. You'd also have thought that the calibre of manager applying would be a bit higher as it's not the usual ci...

4 of them came in the 18 months following Justin's death, where they definitely fluffed it but in difficult circumstances. Re: New Orient Manager?

Under current ownership, we've improved our league position every single season aside from one. Seems to be an idea amongst some that this success has been despite them and that they were somehow 'forced' into making good appointments against their judgment, which is obviously bollox. We have the co...
