Re: Election Watch

I reckon the Greens could end up being this election’s best value for LOLs. Especially now that all the cranks are defecting to them and they're having to become a "broad church" party. I genuinely cannot wait for the new “ allahu akbar ” Greens to share a platform with the “ women can ha...

Re: Labour Watch

Which period in history was it better to be poor in this country? That’s not the question though, if we’re talking relative terms. The better question would be at what point in history was there a bigger gap in standards of living between the richest and poorest? Difficult to say for sure, as the G...

I'll bet you a tenner that the bookies odds for League One ten weeks before the start of the season are no useful guide to anything.

I hear ya, and as you know very well, I feel much the same. Honestly though, the next government (whoever it is) is going to have a very difficult time replacing our lost futures. At least there’s a degree of realism about this mob.

Re: Labour Watch

I'm not arguing your logic but it's a pretty low bar to be encouraged for someone who's going to deliver what looks to be next to f*** all but do it in an a more efficient manner than the current incumbents. They are going to inherit a total shitshow, so it's right that they manage expectations acc...

Re: Labour Watch

If Corbyn were still leader, I think he'd have a half decent chance of forming the next government, but not as good a chance as Sir Kier. Interesting thought experiment. But how can you imagine a world where JC stays in charge after delivering the second worst outcome for Labour since they became a...

Re: Labour Watch

He's constantly making promises that he can't deliver on. His argument to that would be that he's now rowing back/breaking promises that were previously made, and that he's doing that before the election and not after . Therefore, whatever promises are left by the time of the election, we can be co...

Glad to see that Hector is so appreciated at Peterborough United, far more so than when he was at the Os, many on this forum were overjoyed when we sold him on. Most People I know were in shock we got £300 grand for him. Cos most of our fans don’t know much about football Also tbf his performances ...

Re: Save our Landlords

I'd say it brings no value, and could easily be argued it brings harm to society and is a negative. Fundamentally, I agree. But we do need a rental sector in this country - it's just that it's way too large at the moment because most of the people in it would actually rather not be. And landlordism...

And what about the house they used to live in? Landlords selling up doesn't reduce the housing stock. Just as their frequent claim that they are "providing housing" is complete poo poo - the property was there before they bought it, and it will be there after they sell it. Borrowing other...

Paul Smyths move made much more sense, although I’m not surprised he has struggled in the Championship. He hasn't really struggled, in spite of that VIth former's article. He's played 25 league games for them and the fans there seem to like him. It's a better season than the one he had with us in 2...

He's a Championship level keeper. Some Orient fans will never accept that our players can go on to bigger and better things after they leave us: see also some of the reaction to Marvin leaving Blackpool. The real issue here is about how the game in this country is so skewed that Premiership Clubs ca...

There’s a bigger question around all of this as to what the fan base is willing to put up with in order to see us gain more success. Travis talks a lot of bollocks sometimes. Seems to be happening more often. If we're to keep progressing, then the next set of challenges for the Club are an order or magnitude greater than what's happened over the last 7 seasons, because they require the significant expansion of our fanbase, and a...

Lovely stuff.
Guess the hunt for new investment is going quite slowly then, particularly if we're circling the wagons around Parry.
